Get all mixed up from reviews.....

I love lurking/posting/reading but I get all mixed up based on the reviews....what I mean is that one poster will review a restaurant or the food one way as excellent, good...and then I read another poster and it's the complete opposite...and then read another poster and it's back to a positive review...

So, even though I enjoy reading and absorbing reviews...when I actually go and review myself I will have to go with an open mind as I think everyone's tastes, expectations, thresholds for wait times, unexpected issues, whether dining as just a couple with no kids or dining with a family with little ones with meltdowns....I think this all affects the reviews....

Don't get me wrong...I am lurking every night, but find myself in a tizzy because everytime I think I know for sure what I may order...I see a contradicting review from the very last review I read...

Some of the reviews are pretty consistent...either totally a must or totally a must not for certain items..but others seemed to be mixed...

Am I the only one...or is there anyone else out there that feels this way..

Reviews by definition are subjective. I base our ultimate dining decisions on whether or not the menu sounds appealing to my husband and me ... I read (and write) reviews for fun.

that's what i'm going to do...I've picked our restaurant ADR's based mainly on what we like to eat, then added reviews of some things and hopefully with the combination...we'll have a great time.

i do so enjoy the reviews though!

I've been readin' back here for almost 2 months so I could make my ADRs based on pictures and what folks have to say about the restaurant rather than what they say about the food coz hey, I'm gonna be the best judge of what I like.

My best resource for pickin' ADRs was the menus, I wish DIS would update theirs so I used allears.

I've been readin' back here for almost 2 months so I could make my ADRs based on pictures and what folks have to say about the restaurant rather than what they say about the food coz hey, I'm gonna be the best judge of what I like.

Agree...I printed out all the DIS menus and now realize that a lot of the ones I printed are now updated with a more recent date on AllEars

I agree, which is why I kind of explain why I liked or didn't like something when I do my reviews. I like to be objective...I feel it gives everyone a sense of why something might be good or even bad.

Point is...eat what you like according to the menu. We all have very different tastes for a reason. I hope you have a great time picking and choosing (that is half of the fun, no?)

Absolutely, I can almost savor/smell those dishes/snacks that my eyes are feasting on in these reviews/threads!!!!

But for now, the tummy just has to be patient and wait....
