I was just diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and where food will not be an issue. I need to know how Disney is about bringing in your testing supplies. Do I need a note from my doctor? Do I need one for the airline? Any help would be great!!!:thumbsup2

One day during our recent trip (November) we were going through the entrance for bag checks. A castmember asked DD(9) to "open that camera case" that was inside of her backpack. It was her pack she carries her blood sugar meter, strips, etc., in. I simply opened it while simultaneously stating "oh, it's not a camera, it is a blood sugar meter." I don't even think he heard me. He simply waved us on through. Only added a total of MAYBE 15 seconds to our park entrance time:thumbsup2

Actually, the only reason he asked to see what was in it was because it is such a nondiscript zip up case - could have been anything in there:confused3

You should be fine. Bringing in the testing materials is not an issue. If security is tight that day, they may simply ask you to open the case. No biggy. Have a great time!

That helps a ton:thumbsup2 thank you so much. I will bring a Doctors note with me just in case. Leaving boston is never an easy task with all of the security.

You are a very busy person with a wedding, a baby and a trip to WDW.

Hope all goes well.
From all the posts I have read and the information posted on the TSA website, I agree with the other posters that you should have no problems. One big thing to remember is that the airport screeners and the WDW security people probably see diabetic equipment multiple times a day. So, even though it's your first time traveling with it, it's not their first time seeing it.
You probably won't need a doctor's letter, but it's good insurance.

The TSA staff is really well trained concerning medical stuff. My boyfriend works for TSA. He sees wierder stuff come through than the diabeties stuff.

Right after they changed the liquid rules things got a bit off when I had to take liquid prescription cough meds. The crew with the TSA was wonderful. They however told me to show my bottle to the stewardess who totally freaked on me at first glance.

SO the moral of this story I do believe is that you should never show odd medical stuff to the flight crew. Keep that between you and your friendly TSA agent. :rolleyes1
