I can't seem to find the list that has all of our birthdays on it. Must have erased it from my email.

Carol: My birthday is on the 10th, Wednesday, but tomorrow is my day with my family. I tend to like a celebration that lasts about a week, so you gave me the happy smileys at the perfect time!:worship::banana:

Happy Birthday Lisa!

Be careful Kathy and Robin. We only got about 2" of snow and a lot of it has melted. I spent the day going to Zumba this a.m. and then delivering pizza that my son sold for the band trip to WDW next Spring Break. He sold 55 which was the high seller for this year. He only has 2 years to try to earn as much as he can. The more he earns, the less I have to pay. He wasn't able to sell the last 2 years because we were out of town on the day you had to assemble the pizzas.

We all went to the movies tonight. Amelia and I saw When in Rome; Bob and Adam saw From Paris with Love. We couldn't find one movie for the 4 of us. Now I am ready for bed. I had popcorn for my dinner and I think the carbs make me tired.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Lisa, Your 29 this year, right? LOL Take it easy today and enjoy your day with your sister and mom. It's your day, so let everyone wait on you hand and foot ;) Congrats on selling the houses. I hope I didn't just jinx it LOL. I'm sorry your knee/ankle are bothering you. That was exactly what mine would do. I am just now at the point where I can go for walks, exercise, etc. I still have to be careful I don't over do it. It does still bother me some when I lay down.

Bev, glad you enjoyed your movie. Sounds like our house. We can very seldom decide on a same movie LOL. Tv is another one we don't usually agree on LOL. No wonder we have so many in this house LOL.

Our snow stopped yesterday around noon. It seems as though we have about 24". I didn't measure it yesterday. Tyson is holding out on his poo. He doesn't want to go where Mike shoveled out an area for him. He kept whining all afternoon/evening yesterday and we kept letting him outside in the back so he wouldn't poo on the sidewalk. Finally about 9 pm I told Mike to just let him out front. He did the longest boxer burn ever!! He ran as fast as he could up and down the sidewalk. He then ventured into the yard and I don't think he realized how deep it was. It was almost up to his neck!! He was jumping through the snow like a deer runs. Jumping/running kind of. It was sooo funny. He ran for about 5 minutes straight. He came in, laid down and went to sleep. He just wanted to let off extra energy all day. We felt so bad!!

Well, going to watch It's Me or the Dog. I love that show and have learnt some good training tips.
I'll catch up later.

Kathy: Thanks for the fun wishes for me today! I am laughing so hard about Tyson and his poo trip. Can you imagine how hard it is for a dog to have to go outside??? Poor creatures! Bonnie straddles the concrete and goes on my thyme groundcover between the stepping stones, keeping her feet as dry as possible, lol! I think we're actually having a dry, albeit cloudy, day today. I'm going to wear that new black denim size 14 skirt with tights and flats. That should keep the swelling down in my ankle. I sure miss all my pants and heels! Have a cuddly day and take some pictures of Tyson for us.

Have a blessed day everyone!:grouphug:

Lisa, I can picture Bonnie in my mind's eye LOL. I bet that is a funny sight!!
I hope your ankle is doing a bit better today as well as your knee. STAY OFF THOSE HEELS!! Size 14, WOW! You're doing great!!
We went to mom's to shovel her out. they had the car shoveled already, but 1/2 of their driveway wasn't plowed too well. The guy who plowed it had the blade up, so there was about 10" of snow they would have to plow through if they needed out. Mike managed to push some on it with the van, but then there got to be too much under the van and lifted it. So we had to unstuck it LOL. It only took us about 1/2 hour to shovel everything out. Just makes me mad that the guy who plowed it left it that way. In all the years they have lived there (40 plus) the drive has never been left like that. But I now can put my mind at ease knowing if they need to get out, or an emergency arises and an ambulance or such needs to get there, they can. Dad does have an appointment here in Indiana tomorrow morning.
When we were done, we stopped off at the gym and worked out for about 45 min. I need to go to work for a while today. Been putting off cleaning this one place for almost a month now. I just need to do it.
I'll catch up later.
Quick question for all of you who work out. I eat my 1/2 peanut butter sandwich before working out, and that gets me through the workout, but when I get home, I am famished. What do you all "munch" on after a work out? I could eat everything in sight!! Thanks guys!!

Well, have been out of power since 9:30 Friday night....just came back on an hour ago and may I just say I have NEVER been happier to see my shower!! Its been a really rough road with no heat, water, computer, phone....luckiily we have a small generator and were able to run the fridge for a bit, a light for a couple hours a night so we could at least read, and charge the cell phone and make coffee!! LOL, far from all the creature comforts, but at least we arent in the mess most are here...frozen pipes, stuck vehicles, and no heat at all. I have the gas log fireplace, so that baby did some serious overtime keeping the house at around 56 degrees...threw on a couple extra comforters to sleep and woke up to about 47 degrees both mornings...:scared1::scared1::scared1:

When the power came back on, it stayed on for a minute then went off...came back on about 20 minutes later and I raced around and flushed toilets and ran some water in sink, and sure enough it went off again....finally back on an hour later and so far so good...thank goodness I didnt head for the shower first...would have been standing there with soap on my head for a couple hours!!

Kathy and Diane - hope you guys are safe and warm!

Lisa - wow, get yourself in that size 14 and GO!! Congrats!! Sorry to diss your girl Oprah, shes just not my cup of tea, although I know there is much info to be gleaned from some of her shows....I will continue to receive the important stuff through you! LOL

May I just say that a hot cup of green tea never tasted so good?

So sick of Atkins shakes and protein bars I may not have one for a month!

Kathy and Lisa - Harley has nothing but empathy for Tyson and Bonnie! He has had a seriously bad time of the poop trip these past few days...even with a small space shoveled out, the ice nearly sent him into orbit the first time down the concrete steps! Then he was so ticked off, he came back in and refused to even make another attempt for several hours...I finally had to carry him out so he could go...he is positive this is all my fault some how! He was not a fan of the protein bar for all three meals either...he missed his egg he gets every day...spoiled rotten? I think so! :rotfl:

Well, off to cook something REAL for supper, so hope y'all are faring better then we are here...and believe it or not, ANOTHER sleet event coming Tuesday and another snow event due on the 15th...did I mention that I am coming to California? :rolleyes1 Mine will be the pony-pulled wagon train pulling up at your door Lisa!!

Robin - I hope your power stays on! We didn't even get a snowflake. I was very happy. Parts of NJ were hard hit though.

I found a tomato sauce that has 1 net gram of carbs per 1/2 cup today at Whole Foods. It's called Monte Bene. I went onto their website but it's under construction. They linked to a newspaper article. The company is one that I applied to for a job! It was a while ago, and I never heard anything. I'm going to have some of the sauce tomorrow with string beans. I'll let you know how it is.

Countdown to Lisa's birthday begins!! Happy 3 days before your birthday! :dance3:

Good evening everyone. Just got back from work and walmart. This will be a short one, Band of Brothers is on.
Robin, so glad you're doing ok. Sorry about the electric going out. When I got up at 7 this morning, our thermometer said -0.8
Dad told me he heard on the news Indiana got down to -4 last night. It was 57* in here. We are to get the same storm Tuesday. I think we are to possibly get a mixture of sleet/snow. Not excited at all about the ice. I will be with you in that ride to CA for sure!!
Diane, glad you are safe and sound and no snow. Just be careful if you get Tuesdays bad weather.
Ok, off to watch my show.
Have a great night everyone!!

Diane: I’m thrilled to find out about the tomato sauce. Can’t wait to see if my Whole Foods has it. Thanks so much for finding that for us!

Robin: You poor thing! I would DIE if it were that cold at night! Poor Harley! It sure makes us appreciate all the conveniences, huh? As long as you don’t have to resort to rinsing your soapy head in the toilet, I guess it’s not too terribly bad??!! You , Mom and Kathy are very welcome to pull up in any getup you can find. We’d love to have you! Hot tub should be fixed in a few days…

I had such a nice afternoon and evening! Mom gave me money for my birthday and I found everything I had on my wish list for great prices. I had a certain necklace and a certain scarf in mind and I think I manifested them with good vibes, ‘cause there they were! Loved the scarf so much I bought one for Olivia, too! We had a blast at dinner. The cheat was fun, but it made my heart pound. Sugar can do that to me, plus I had coffee. Kinda why I’m up typing! Tomorrow I’m taking my Mom and my sister to see a house I’m selling so I can check on it. It’s a beautiful drive up in the hills. We can have lunch up there. No more cheats for me until I lose another 20!

Robin: I love that you are enjoying a hot cup of green tea! Did He** freeze over along with Virginia?? LOL!! I love you, Robin!

Today I was thinking about telling you why I love vinegar. Isn't it funny how memories trigger so much in what we love and why? The couldn't be a little girl who ever loved her grandfather more than I did mine. He had a glass cruet of vinegar in the kitchen and loved to eat a relish tray with green onions and radishes sprinkled liberally with vinegar. I would eat them right along side him. This from a child that was really a picky eater. I would do anything to share an experience with my grandfather, though, so I ate those strong flavors and came to love them. He was the kindest, sweetest, most loving person I have ever known. He was also as healthy as a horse. He died on his feet at almost 94 and took the express lane straight to Heaven. It might have been the vinegar that attributed to his long life, lol! I lost both of my grandparents in different years very close to my birthday, so maybe that's why he was on my mind so much today. :littleangel:

Hi everyone. All is well here this cold morning. No school today, looks as though all of PA schools are closed. Guess they need to plow out the parking lots and buses and such.
Lisa, that is such a great memory. Thank you for sharing it with us. If your grandparents were as great as mine, it wasn't hard to love them so much. My grandpa died when I was 15. It was extremely hard on me. My grandma died 3 years ago at the ripe age of 98. Extremely hard didn't even begin to describe my loss when she died. Not a day goes by that I don't think of them. Glad you enjoyed your cheat. Those 20# will come off quickly!! You and Tom have done so well!
Well, I'll catch up with you all later. Have a great day!!

Good Morning...Kathy, not surprised the kids arent in school...ours havent been in 7 days!! And it doesnt look like they will be there today either...this will bring them to the end of the 9 snow days they build into the school calendar every year though, and we are looking at the ice storm tomorrow night and supposedly another snow event on the 15th...I told my godson we are going to start home-schooling him! He was all for it, til his mother told me to shut up! LOL, he is a very active kid and has been driving her BONKERS with this week off....she cannot WAIT to get him back to school!

Lisa - what did you have for your cheat? Sorry you werent able to completely enjoy it...I hate that heart racing feeling...but so great that you got all your items from the "wish list"! So tell me more about the vinegar thing...what can I do with it besides put on salad or drink straight in water? UGH, that just sounds so disgusting...I dont suppose I could just rub it on myself and absorb it that way? LOL, maybe I can use it for sponge bath if the power goes off again!

Hoping that the cold temps last night havent frozen my car in place...got to head into work in a couple hours...the three days off would have been much nicer if I had power!!

Kathy: I know just how you feel about your grandparents. It's a horrible pain, but the only other choice would have been not to love so well, right? That's why I want to live near J-P when he has kids. We had to leave my grandparents when I was 9, but they came out almost every summer and I called them all the time.

Robin: I can't imagine the weather you all are experiencing! It's downright dangerous! Are you able to enjoy any time at home or is it all spent trying to compensate for the lack of power, etc?

I think maybe we could just try to add vinegar to greens like spinach and to our salads? Just an awareness that it could be helpful and sprinkle it in when you can. I might just go back to drinking mine in water, lol! It's a gulp it down kind of thing.

My cheat OMG was the Southwestern Chicken Fettuccine, which was a fairly small portion and the pasta is spinach. We had crab cakes and little tortilla appetizers, but I only had one. I had a Cosmo with that. Then I committed death by red velvet cake, but I couldn't finish it. I couldn't sleep last night for hours and today a song Tom used to chant from his childhood is running through my head, "Cheaters Never Prosper!" LOL:lmao: (You have to sing it like whwaaawhwaa, whwaaawhwaa, whwaaawhwaaa.):teacher:

Lisa - doesnt sound like your cheat was all that bad other than the cake! LOL, I used to LOVE that stuff...funny how now when I allow myself a small cheat, sweets dont really even cross my mind...my Mom cannot BELIEVE it! Dad and I used to devour anything chocolate or PB related in the house! Im pretty sure I wouldnt feel too good if I gave in to cake or cookies, so Im just not ready to spend the "day after" feeling like crap! I would definitely have gone for the fettucini though...sounds so good!

Unfortuntately the days off were mostly spent attempting to endure the lack of power, along with the additional foot of snow and couple inches of ice...did alot of reading and managed to get about 10 chapters in Rick Warrens " A purpose driven life" whcih I have been trying to start for about 6 months...it is quite compelling and kept me occupied for quite awhile...til it got dark and I could either read by flashlight and risk the batteries...or fire up the generator and listen to the racket it makes! I considered the past 3 days God's continuing lesson to me on PATIENCE...and all in all I think I fared pretty well...I now have 2 organized closets, an alphabetized shelf of DVD's, 3 clean bathrooms, and a flock of well-fed and happy birds!

Robin: Wow! I'm impressed by how much you have accomplished in your 'down time' at home! Of course, I should have known! I've heard great things about that book, too. I'd like to read it sometime, as well. There was something about birthday cake that was compelling. Even though I made it all the way through the holidays without sweets. I have to say, it was too sweet - not at all as satisfying as it was last year - and I doubt I will do it again. I feel pretty darn awful today, LOL! Back on the wagon BIG TIME! Got one accepted offer today and waiting on a second. Off to check on a house in the hills and show Mom and sis a bit of 'what I do'. For heaven's sake, sit down and stop cleaning, lol!:laundy:

Hi again everyone. Just got home from work and thought I'd pop in.

Robin, have your step son do some shoveling for you, and maybe he won't bounce off the walls. A tired kid is a happy kid. Sort of my mentra for Tyson too :) Getting ready for this storm tomorrow. I haven't heard about the one on the 15th yet. Alyssa's birthday is on the 14th, so hope it doesn't come early. I also have Rick Warren's book and had started it years ago, and even have the work book that goes with it. As for the vinegar, you can always mash the avocado with it and put it on your face!! LOL

Lisa, good luck on the house!! I don't think in my opinion cake could ever be too sweet. I love cake, donuts, all types like that. Maybe next year have someone make you a red velvet cake with s/f icing. Or even with whipped cream on it.

I have heard that if you have a fever, to wipe yourself down with vinegar as it helps bring down a fever. Not sure how true that is. It also helps relieve itching. And on a dog, if you rinse them with it, and not rinse the vinegar out, it makes their coats so soft and shiny. It is also a great deoderizer and you can use it on marble, granite, etc and it won't hurt it and it won't streak.
Ok, enough for now LOL.
I'll catch up later.

Good morning!! Just a quick note hi. Watching the weather. They are predicting another 6-10 or 10-15". We are right on the line again. Don't foresee myself going to work tomorrow.
Short day today, and hopefully going to work out. I'll catch up with all of you later. The board seems awfully quiet.
Nell, hope your moving is coming along ok.
Robin, Diane, and anyone else in the path of this storm, please be careful!!

Morning Kathy - 8:30am and we have just a light dusting so far...guess it is supposed to snow flurry til this afternoon, nothing major, then turn to freezing rain and ice, then back to snow again overnight...so looks like we wont get too much, but I see that you are definitely on the edge of something pretty big...hope you dont get it !! Im gathering pails of water and things I can cook on the gas grill just in case of another power loss...planning to take a shower soon too in case!:confused3 Better safe than sorry this time! the generator is gassed up and ready to go!

Where is everybody? Seems like the MM's are going awol for longer and longer ....Barb? Jocelyn? Natalie? Sharon? Sandra? Tom? Laura? Cindy? Laura? Hello!!! Anybody out there!!! At least Carol, Bev, Pam and Nell have checked in somewhat recently....hmmmm might have to go MM Hunting!! Now what do I have to use for bait for them?

:wave2:I'm here Robin! Please don't send out the MM po'lice at me! :yay:

I'm reading you all each morning with my coffee, to stay caught up. I am bolting out of the house everyday by ten or so to help my sister and daughters, doing anything I can to get myself out of the house. I have such a bad case of cabin fever, it's not even funny. I've even been trying to network a tiny bit to see if there's any kind of real job to take on. I need some life changes bad. This stay at home stuff is really getting to me. :confused3

I got through my detox quite easily this time. But am leaning back the way I was originally, not wanting to eat at all. Everything I do now is forced. I didn't lose any weight last week and forgot to measure. I may be at the point where I need to up my foods, I just don't feel like it.:charac2:

Robin and Kathy, so sorry about the wintery mess you have had to endure. We did get a little bit of sun for a couple days late last week, it felt so good!:goodvibes Right now we're waiting for eight or nine inches by morning. This is forcing me home today, that can't be a bad thing, I need to catch up here some. :laundy:

Lisa, so what have you and Tom decided to for your birthday? You're so right about cheats not being worth it. Heaven's, what was I thinking!?! I can't decide if the anxiety it creates is out of the guilt we feel or is as physical as we imagine, probably a bit of both?:confused3 I love the way you celebrate your birthday week! Good plan! My birthday and Mothers Day fall very close together and that's how it feels to me every year. Love that! :goodvibes

Be safe Robin and Kathy, I sure hope this last predicted blast will miss you all together. See you all soon!
