 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! I hope everyone has a sweet day!

Lisa - so right about about wondering who are the pets? Halle got a braided kangaroo (Kong brand) last week as a treat after her bath - our pet store has one of the those places where you can wash your dog yourself (l love it - no mess at home and I don't have to bend over to get the job done). She carries it around with her and then goes to sleep with under her paw or chin!

I better get up. Brad already went to work for awhile and I want to get some stuff done before watching the Olympics.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

So cute! Bonnie sleeps with her Kong bone like a baby does with its rattle. Which pet store do you go to? We are loving the Olympics, except for the tragic loss of the Geogian boy. His poor parents!

Diane - I have every ingredient and will be trying this recipe today (omitting the honey)! YUMMMMM. I will report later.

How much of this can we eat at once, LOL?

Diane, can you post it to the recipes? I have a feeling this might save a few lives.:rotfl:

Hi Folks, Happy Valentines Day to all! I am at work, (surprise, right?) and no surprise here, it is pretty slow. Yesterday , however was CRAZY...as I told my supervisor, I sold 7 policies and got 2 marriage proposals! LOL, its true though! She cant wait to play back those two calls and listen to them!

Sorry I havent caught up on posts, so hopefully everyone is ok, no new injuries, illnesses, or accidents to report...my only gripe for today is this: (sorry Tom) I have dealt with perimenopause since I was 35...irregular periods, sometimes only 2 a year...then finally about 3 years ago it stopped completely...havent had a single one in that long...so WHY AM I HAVING ONE NOW!! OMG, I was caught totally unprepared, and blazed through a tampax an hour for the entire day and night yesterday....I am NOT a happy camper right now...seems to have slowed a bit today, but WTH???

cant wait to go home and make a spinach omelet and sleep off the rest of this day...only 3 more hours to go here...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi,

First the site is down for maintenance and then it doesn't want to let me to log in!!!!!

Here I am now.

Kathy - Google low carb custard or search LCF recipes for low carb custard. There are a LOT of recipes out there and you won't have to make substitutions. The milk and canned milk are full of carbs!!! I have never been a custard fan so don't have any recipes in my collection. Now creme brulee - that is a different matter!!!

Happy Valentine's Day to ALL:love:

Kathy: I'm not big on milk so don't really remember, but I think there is no milk at all on Step 1.

Robin: That much bleeding could be a fibroid or something. You should call the ob and see what they say. Better to be checked out. I had a large benign polyp that caused similar symptoms and had a D & C - all better. Whenever you have unexpected events like that, it's best to investigate. Hope it settles down for you today.

We'd all love to hear the tapes of those marriage proposals!

I'm making spaghetti squash with Trader Joe's lc pasta sauce, ground turkey in it and chard for the red stems for Valentine's Day healthy dinner. Add some red wine and one piece of raspberry tea dark chocolate. Not bad! We can't go out - Tom's on call, but the weather is fine so he'll most likely not have to go anywhere.

Thank you all for the help all the questions. I have been drinking milk this whole time!! :scared1: No wonder I'm craving carbs like crazy!! It's not a lot, but I was thinking milk was a freebie!!!! Ok, going AWOL for a while and read the book.
Mike has taken Michael to the emergency room. He has gotten Robitussin and drank it. We have no idea how much he's had. He is definitely tripping. They are going to admit him and Mike is calling the PO in the morning. Just wanted to let you all know.
I have to go clean the bathroom now. There is cough medicine all over the tub and floor. I have no idea what went on in there. All I know is he was in there from 11:30 until almost 4. Carrie said he came out a few times and came downstairs then went straight back into the bathroom. At least it's in an easy to clean lace. I'll get my swiffer wet jet and do the floor. What PO's me is that he did it on Alyssa's birthday.
Ok, off I go. I'll try to get back in a while. I did manage to run the sweeper though.

Kathy: My prayers are wth you and the family. I hope they admit him to the hospital. He's clealy out of control.

Thank you Lisa. I am thinking it's more than out of control now. I know this is going to be hard on Mike, so I want to be sure to be supportive of him when he gets home. I think this may be the hardest thing he's ever had to do. :guilty:
But he also knows if he doesn't do it, Michael will end up overdosing and dying. There is no doubt in our minds about that. At least in jail we know where he'll be and that he'll be ok there.

Mike and I did sign up for the YMCA. I am going tomorrow after work. I am so excited as I was looking at all the different free aerobic things they have for members, they have zumba 2 times a week! I will sign up for it as soon as I'm sure my knee will take it. It has been pretty sore lately. I have been keeping it propped up and that seems to be helping.
I am going to get my coat out of the dyer, finish watching Band of Brothers and then go to bed. It has been an exhausting evening.
I'll catch up in the morning. Love you all, and again, thank you for all the support and prayers. I really do appreciate it.

Petsmart? I forget the name? I know it isn't Petco......

I have been glued to the Olympics. I got warmed up with the X Games. I feel so, so, so bad for the family of that boy - for the whole team. I don't like that people are complaining about having the shorter track now.

Kathy - addictions within the family are so hard. I am sorry about all of this happening on Alyssa's birthday.

Until Michael, I had never heard of anyone drinking Robitussin?

They shouldn't be complaining - something had to be done to keep them safer. It's still a harrowing sport. I'm enjoying the pairs skating tonight.

I buy drugs so seldom and was shocked when I had to go to the pharmacy and show my ID for Sudafed for my Mom. A lot of kids are abusing medicines to get high. It's awful!

Kathy: We are all praying for you and Mike to have strength and fortitude through this ordeal. Poor Mike; he is lucky to have you to lean on. Bless his heart.

Kate, I have never heard of it before either. But I am finding that it is very popular with the kids. They can pick it up anywhere, it's not too expensive and I am guessing a great high. I just can't understand how people like feeling that way. Even when I'm sick, I don't like the way it "whacks me out".
I don't know if you watch House of not, but they did an episode on it. It was Michael to a T. It did help us understand why he does it though. It was like watching Michael in that episode.

That is why I quit taking the sudafed. It did help my allergies a bit, but not enough that I want to stand in a pharmacy line at Walmart for 1/2 an hour.

Thanks again for the prayers. Mike has been in such a bad mood. I know it's stress and he doesn't mean to be snippy. I would be too probably. Maybe going to the gym today will help him get rid of some of the stress he's feeling.

Morning everyone. Just got up a few minutes ago. Couldn't understand why Carrie wasn't up. They have a teacher in service day today. And we are to get another 4-8" starting around noon, so there is a chance tomorrow they may not have school yet again. They have used all their snow days I think. I believe they only took out 4 days! How dumb is that? We live in an area that gets their fair share of snow, and they only take that many days out :(
I talked to Robin briefly last night on FB and she's having problems with this site. It won't let her log in and when she tries, it still messes up. Just wanted to let you all know. She is doing fine though.
I'll catch up with you all after work. I get to go swimming later!! I am sooo excited! I feel like a kid in a candy store LOL.

I am so happy that you are excited about your new gym! I hope Mike gets to go and blow off some steam today. I love HOUSE but must have missed that episode. I will keep an eye out for it - I watch the re-runs too....:)

Everything is closed today around here - offices, schools, the courthouse, etc. I am still working - I like working when the office is closed. No phone call interruptions!

Be careful with your knee at the gym....

Kathy: Have fun at your new gym today! Try not to overdo it starting out. I'm going to look for a gym after my injuries heal. I need a boost after all this sitting around.

Kate: Enjoy the peace and quiet at work today!

I'm going to meet a client who has become a good friend for lunch at a lovely cafe in the most gorgeous nursery around. (It's in Loomis, Kate.) The cafe is all glass and you can sit inside or outside. The food is fantastic. Our birthdays are 4 days apart so we always pick a day to go out together. This will mark the end of my birthday, LOL!
