Genie+ Resort Guest/Off-Property Party Mix

Hello DIS!

My question is about what works for a on property and off property party mix in regards to Genie+ and utilizing those on property benefits. So my parents are staying on property, I'm not, and of course want to take advantage of the Genie+ 7am on property booking window especially for the Hollywood Studios day for RotR and Slinky Dog. I'm not attached to their resort reservation however all our plans and tickets are sync'd up for the My Disney Experience. Can I piggyback off their resort advantage or what are best suggestions and strategies? The trip is unfortunately during April, so it'll be busy, but with RotR and Slinky Dog selling out almost instantly I want to go for it with the on-property advantage but how can we do it without splitting our party/the off-property part of the group missing out.

They can call and modify their reservation to pay more and add people, assuming there is room in the capacity of the room.

The problem is you are going to meltdown Disney IT if you are linked to two Disney hotel rooms. It's possible to do this with a different email and a slightly different name like Mickey A Mouse and Mickey Mouse. If you've already bought tickets linked to your off site room, this might not work at all. If you're at something unconnected to Disney, then that won't be the issue.

G+ rides like Slinky can be booked at 7am regardless of whether you’re onsite or not. The ILL rides like Rise cannot be booked at 7 if you’re off property - you’ll have to wait until park open when they’ll likely be gone.

Gosh...I didn't think my question was that bad, I'm sure many people have similar party questions if guests are mixed on/off property....

Actually, more correctly it's linking your offsite hotel reservation to your MDE account. Whether you can do that or not depends on at which offsite hotel you plan to stay. Some have "onsite" perks and must be linked to take advantage of those perks -- early entry and/or deluxe late closing. Most offsite reservations cannot be linked to MDE because there is zero value to do so.

OP - have your parents list you in their room; there will be an extra adult charge to do this, but it will allow you to do the earlier I$LL booking at 7am. G+ can be booked at 7am regardless of on-site or off-site.

If your parents have an MDE acct, you can be linked that way. Then maybe they could simply include you in their party and make selections for all of you that way. (Or you can sign in as them, and do it yourself)

Of course if you are just worried about Genie+ selections & not the paid Individual Attraction LL (the ones you can purchase apart from G+— ROTR, for example)… there’s no problem, because everyone— on- or off-site can make G+ selections at 7a.m.., as lanejudy stated above.
