Genie+ question and ticket type required

We haven't been to Disneyworld in probably 3-4 years and it feels like EVERYTHING has changed. I'm trying to get my head wrapped around Genie+. Do I have to purchase hopper tickets to take advantage of this system? We are going to DW in early Dec. I'm assuming it will be in use by then?

No, unless you want to use Genie+ on the same day in 2 different parks.

They said something like Fall or Autumn. But, a lot of people thought that it would have started by now, so who knows when it will start.
They said that you can add it to your tickets, so adding it for every day. Or, you can add it a day at a time, that day.
