Is photo pass still a thing and is it part of genie+. Not just pictures on the rides but all around the parks as well?

We’re are interested in photo pass while at oogie boogie and the parks over the 3 days we’re there

Thanks

I'm sorry no one has answered your question. I would, but I'm afraid I don't know! I have a MK which includes PhotoPass so I'm not really sure how it works without the pass.

I do know that with PhotoPass you do get pictures around the park and not just on rides. There aren't a whole lot--right after you go through the turnstiles and before you enter under the bridges you can get a picture with the train station behind you; during the holidays, at least, you can get a pic next to the big Christmas tree at the beginning of Main St; in front of the castle; and can't remember where else in DL. In DCA, on Buena Vista Street; down toward the theater in DCA where there's a nice backdrop; and jeez, I'm sure there are others but that's all that comes to me right now.

Yes Genie+ includes photopass. We used it a lot last week. Make sure you ask about magic shots and maybe check out different options before you go. There are some we missed that I am sorry we didn't get.

Photopass is included in your Ooogie Boogie Bash tickets and as part of Genie+. You can still buy it separately but it's generally more cost-effective to just have one person buy Genie+ to use for Photopass, even if you don't use it for rides.

Genie+ comes with PhotoPass. Genie+ includes photos from the rides and photos from the PhotoPass photographers walking around. They have them near the castle, at the entrance to CarsLand, inside CarsLand, near the Falcon in Galaxy's Edge and sometimes with the characters.

Yes and we got an absolute ton of pictures over Labor Day weekend. Stop at every photographer you see that doesn't have a big line and use it to the full extent!

I knew it was part of Genie+ but not to that extent. Sounds like it is a great benefit that I shouldn't ignore on our next trip. Other than what @Kit Jackson said about the photographer locations, are they wandering about in a lot of various locations as ktlm intimated?

ktlm - And when you say a ton, how many per day? where? I guess I just didn't seem to notice them last Jan?

We were in the parks the full day Sunday and Monday, from about 1:00 p.m. to closing on Saturday and briefly on Friday night. I just looked and we have just under 500 photopass pictures.

We have castle both day and night. We have them a during the day a couple times because we were worried about squinting as the sun was in our face one time and DD wanted a different outfit in the castle picture. We have front and side of the castle. We have a ton from Galaxy's edge in different locations both day and night. One night, a fantastic photographer took DD all over Galaxy's edge for "Image Scans"-- it was a highlight of the trip for her. We have magic shots both day and night at Galaxy's edge. We have toontown photos and toontown character photos at Minnie and Mickey's house. There were photographers with some of the Main Street characters, we saw, but we didn't stop. DD has shots with the sword in the stone. We did Minnie's breakfast and have great photos with Minnie from there. (The photos from meals are included now- not separate like they used to be a while back). We have awful ride photos. I know we saw some other photographers but the lines were long or we were headed somewhere and didn't stop-- but I can't remember where all they were. I feel like there was one by the Haunted Mansion one day but the line was long and it was crowded so we didn't stop-- I know most times we were back there we didn't see one-- it was crowded.

At CA we have photos with the Partner's statue and headless horseman. We have fun magic shots with Oogie Boogie and a caldron (not the party- it did not start until the day after we left). We have shots at the front of the park-- some with the big Oogie Boogie on the gate behind us. We have shots in front of the Avengers sign. There were photographers in Carsland both at the sign and other places - but we didn't stop. There was a photographer near the pixar pier bridge where you can get shots with the wheel etc. behind you. There was photopass with Mickey and some other characters.

DD (teen) also took herself to Goofy's Breakfast the morning we left while DH and I packed and has some great shots with Goofy.

I would say there were definitely a whole lot more photographers around than we saw in 2021--- but not nearly as many as we used to see pre-2020. ( You still won't find them in the Princess Hall, and you don't see as many with characters or roaming). But--- I will note that it was the first weekend of Halloween Time, and it is possible there were more photographers around because of that.

WOW, just WOW. This just blows me away! I had no idea.

That was cool to hear about your DD, especially the pics in Galaxy's Edge.

Thank you for the detailed reply, very helpful. We will definitely take advantage of this on our next trip
