We are looking at doing a quick trip over Christmas but will only do so if Genie+ is out by then, otherwise the lines would be too much for us.

Any thoughts or ideas on this???

I hope so - we are going and I am worried... if it's not running we will just set expectations very low, do what we can in the mornings, and enjoy the ambiance! :)

They've stated "Fall 2021" which *technically* mean any time through 12/21....

However, there had been several reports that they've changed several of the Fast Pass signs to "Lightening Lanes" so I'd think soon-ish. Of course, "soon-ish" is all relative.

They gotta hurry up! There's so much planning ahead of time required for DLR now and I'm anxious!
We're going in the first week of December and would love to know if it'll be live then.
I think the main perk would be having the individual LL for RoTR in case I don't score a boarding group :(
Would totally splurge on it for once.

It would be tough for us to spend the dollars on the entire trip to not be able to have some manageable lines.

Hopefully an announcement soon, then we could fully commit to the trip.

We were there this past weekend and as former Maxpass users we had a tough time with the lines.

A few spots early morning or late at night were OK, but basically RSR and some others were pretty much unavailable for our patience for sitting in a line.

I feel your pain! I hate lines too, esp as a person with flat feet---I get cranky!
And now even lots of easily accessible snacks seem to need mobile ordering in advance now. Grr!

Same-same. Quick trip on my way to visit DD and DSIL in LA, Dec. 2-4th. Really hoping it'll be live in 2 weeks!

The mobile ordering was strange in that all I wanted was a fountain pop in Tomorrow Land, and the mobile order stations were empty, but a few walk ups like me took forever.

Will be there at six through 9 of December, and as of five minutes ago times for the parade and fireworks still haven’t been released!

I kinda don't want it to start before Christmas. I have UK friends going on a one day visit on December 23. They are not a Disney parks family / planners / researchers like us and didn't have a good experience when they last went about 4 years ago. Trying to explain Genie + to them will be a nighmare.

Going Dec 18-21 so hoping if they do announce something it would be after then. I know that the standby lines will be long, but at least they can move them faster if there is not another line. What I am nervous about is DL having ROTR go to standby queue rather than the boarding groups because Spiderman went standby a while ago

Disney should really get it out. The park is PACKED right now. I last went on a Saturday in mid-October and it was more crowded than I ever saw it; including pre-pandemic. Lines were super long everywhere. They need to give people an option to have some relief from spending time waiting in lines.
This includes early morning. We rope dropped Space Mountian, we were in the second train of the day, when we got off the ride the line was like an hour long. It was insane.
Just do it Disney.

100% agree with this, and we had a similar experience last weekend.

Disneyland has had some sort of Fastpass for a long time, and with crowd levels the way they are today I believe the park needs it.

I, too, hope that it comes out soon! However, I wanted to say that I just got back (Nov 13-16 with 3 park days with hoppers) and was mildly surprised at how manageable it was for us. I haven't done standby lines in years, but we did ok with it. We skipped rides if the wait time was over 50 min and most of the time, the waits, even for the popular rides, were reasonable (10-30 min) with many of them pretty much walk-in early and late in the day. I'd forgotten how most of the Disney lines are designed to take your mind off the wait. We managed to get BGs for ROTR both times we tried and it was super fun, which I say because I'm not a SW person and don't really like the land. We did standby on the other SW ride (forgot the name) and got on within 15 min. It's easier, of course, if you have more than 1 day. We went on all the big rides, most of them multiple times, and some of the little kid rides took longer in line than the major rides. I was with my daughter and almost 5-year-old grandson, who loved all of the fast and scary rides but was too small for Matterhorn, Incredicoaster and Indy, but those lines weren't bad if you hit them at the right time because we got all the way to the front of Matterhorn pretty quickly before we realized my grandson was too short to ride. Anyway, my advice on rides is to go early and stay late :)

HOWEVER, the food situation, as many others have said, is an ugly beast. We did just ok, meaning that we managed to eat, but not when, where, and what we would have preferred and it was a hassle that doesn't really make sense to me. DTD was a bit easier. We walked up at Black Tap and got in quickly. It felt a little weird not ordering from a waitperson when you're sitting down at a table, but I did find it amusing to order a kid meal (fish and chips) and a beer. It was fast and pretty easy but the food options everywhere are limited and there's not really a lot of room for special requests. Our favorite meal was at Jazz Kitchen, which I think was our only reservation. Red Rose Tavern was an ok walk-up. Trying to get a pickle or fruit etc from a cart was challenging for us with long lines and nowhere to sit, but we had good luck at Bengal BBQ mobile ordering lunch about an hour beforehand and sitting on the patio near the Jungle Cruise. The next day, you would have had to mobile order way before that if you wanted to eat there, and that's what I really hated. It was very unpredictable and I don't always know where I want to be or what I want to eat at 8 am. We stayed at DLH and it was pretty easy to get in to Tangaroa, but I'm not sure if it would be as easy if you weren't already right there.

Take it for what it’s worth…

I was talking with a guest service’s CM a little bit ago (I’m here at the parks) and she said while there hasn’t been an official announced date for Genie+, it has officially been pushed to Winter. Her guess (and only a guess) is it won’t happen until January.
