Generic transfer/rent question

Hi I'm trying to plan a trip for (date removed) and may need to rent or have pts transferred or rented if all the people in my family wish to go. So my question is

1. In your experience is 75 pts needed too low for people willing to transfer?
2. If we plan to leave (date removed) and I can only book 7 months out since I am looking for (non-home resort) and my home resort is SSR when should I start looking to see if someone is willing to transfer or rent? I get really confused with the uy information I see floating in the rent/transfer board.

If my question doesnt belong here please let me know where i should post. I looked over the parameters for both this and the planning and it seemed it belonged here.

Since you are looking to supplement your existing points, and not enough points for the entire reservation (meaning you'll be booking at 7 months) it does not matter what the home resort is of the points you transfer in. They will just need to be in a use year that is applicable to your travel dates. I think you'll have an good chance of getting a transfer from another member, even if it isn't a large amount of points.

Thanks for the information. I was worried because on the boards it looked like so many wanted a larger amount in order to transfer.
