I am at Pop Century and have spoken with several CMs and the general consensus is that there is nothing official, but that there is a good possibility the "wall" will come down Thursday.:)

However,I did speak with one CM(and only one) who was positive the "wall" will not come down until The Little Mermaid section is complete.

At any rate,it is so exciting to be here to FINALLY see the original project "completed" and I will be eating at Landscape of Flavors Thursday!:)

I think that after almost nine years of the "Wall",Disney needs to go ahead and bring it down Thursday!:)

If there is any serious construction going on it needs to be fenced off to prevent accidents. If that is the case, then the wall can come down between the resorts. Last year when we were at POP we would walk over to see the construction at the bridge. It'll be great to connect the 2 resorts!pirate:

I wonder how they will keep POPers out of AoA's swimming area? just wonderin'..

I'm checking in at Pop one week from today and I am hoping hoping hoping the bridge goes across!! I'm going with my neighbors, whose two year old I babysit, and I know he will adore the theming of AoA. I want to walk him over there so badly! I will keep you posted as to the bridge situation next week.

the AoA pools are fenced in and require a KTTW card to get in specifically to keep the "popp'n" folk out ;)

I just figured it would be coming down when the AoA opens in a few days :confused3

I've been wondering and wondering about this and am really hoping it happens sooner rather than later. It would be so great to stroll over to AoA for other dining options. I'm also a runner and would love to run all around the lake.

I hope that the CMs who say Thursday are correct. I was afraid it might not happen until after LM opens which will be after we're there in August!

Keep us posted, please!

So the "sister resort" thing isn't going to apply to these two, I guess?

Nope. They are two separate resorts with separate pools and separate busses. No sharing allowed other than the food courts which are open to everyone.

Im pretty psyched to check out AoA's FC while we're at Pop, as well as the resort itself:)

I spoke with another CM this AM who had just been touring over at AoA recently and they were POSITIVE the Wall was coming down Thursday, but, again only Thursday will tell.:)

I would think all construction will have to be over before they open up the entire Hourglass Lake "loop walkway",but,I agree, that is going to be an amazing running route-one of the best on property.:)

All of the POP Cast and Guests are commenting on how it is going to "feel" like one huge Resort(even though the Pools are resort restricted).:)

I wil be checking on how the buses situation is handled Thursday.

Good times here at WDW!:)

Help me out ... I don't know of this wall you speak of ...

So, were the old abandoned POP buildings use to create AoA? I thought AoA was a new build :confused3

Sounds like it will be like the relationship between "Beach/Yacht" and "Boardwalk" - adjacent to one another, easily accessible, happy to have you stop by and patronize their offerings, but not sisters.

Some are new and some are the old Pop buildings.

They are talking about opening up the bridge between Pop and AOA so that guests can walk between the two resorts.

Thanks - you are always so helpful, I appreciate it :goodvibes

THE WALL IS DOWN!!!!:):):):)After nine years!!!!:):):):)

It came down very early this AM.The merch shop and Food Court opened at 6:00 AM,but the line for the Limited Edition AoA Pins began forming about 4:30 AM!:)

I spent all morning touring AoA and WOW-it is amazing!!!!:)

Besides all of the obvious "big" things(The Big Blue, etc.),I was struck by all the "litttle" things AoA has that the All-Star Resort and Pop Century-The Classic Years does not have.

Some of the things I noticed were:

Landscapes of Flavors has real plates and silverware!:)

There is a small "internet cafe" with two stations where Guests can purchase time on the internet and a third desk where Guests can check-in for their departing flight and print boarding passes.:)

There is also a huge "flight monitor" with real-time flight status for all flights from OIA.:)

The Pool Bar(The Drop Off) is huge AND has a refillable mug station!:)

The Resort airline check-in station is a dedicated room inside the main building on the "back side" with its own entrance/exit.:)

The bathrooms have automated towel dispensers.:)

The bus stops are "covered":)

There will be an Animator in the Lobby 5 days a week doing drwaings on a "monitor" for Guests to watch.

Those are just some things I am remembering right now.:)

Also,EVERYONE at AoA is saying that Pop Century and AoA will not share buses anytime, anywhere, anyway.:)The AoA buses do drive around Hourglass Lake and exit through Pop Century.:)

The only Pool that is "gated" is The Big Blue. The other 5 Pools of POP/AoA appear that they will only be on the "honor system".:)

Guests ARE being allowed to use their Mugs at either Food Court at this time.I was told that eventually all Resorts will be using the All-Star Sports system and then Guests will,of course, have to buy one at each Food Court if they want to access the beverage islands at each Resort with unlimited refills.:)

The Cast was awesome Today-you could not walk 2 feet without someone saying Hello or Welcome.:)

Finally, the coolest thing was that instead of saying "Have a Magical Day",they were saying "Have a COLORFUL day"!:)

Thanks for sharing that wonderful update report!! I can't wait to take the children there! I know they will be awed!! It would've been nice if they had regular rooms all through out instead of just at the LM.

Excellent report! Thanks for sharing! Any chance you noticed any ice cream sundaes on the menu? Still waiting for confirmation one way or the other on that subject.:rolleyes1

I have a friend who is in Imagineering and I spoke to him today and asked him about this. He is not, personally, working on the project, so he didn't know. He did say that they were thinking MAYBE of turning the ESPN Wide World of Sports Resort Area into the Disney's Hollywood Studios Resort Area. They are, perhaps, planning on building one or two value resort hotels west of AoA, so they can run a path to DHS. The only problem, he said, is the rode, but I'm sure they'll work around that.

In fact, I noticed that AoA appeared on the property map that came with the Planning DVD under DHS Resort Area (not ESPN WWoS Area) along with Pop Century.
