Generally, is WDW getting more crowded?

Hi all~

We were at WDW the first week of October of this year. We've gone that same week for 4 out of the past 7 years. It seems like each time we go there are more and more people. Now, to me this makes sense. Disney has been adding resort rooms, and more of the value resorts, but there has not been more ways to distribute the people. They are offering more special events ~ MNSSHP, Wine and Food, free dining, etc. Honestly, I love the Disney magic but dealing with the increasing crowds (and the rudeness that more people brings) is a bummer. Has anyone else noticed this trend? Do you go at the same time every year for a good comparison?

Thanks!

WE usually go 3-4 times a year, May which always seems the same to me, Id say average park attendance, Sept/Oct....think that is getting a little busier, and December which is a tad busier but not very much. What I do think is happening (IMO) it seems summer has chilled out a bit, and more people are going at these other times out of fear of hurricanes and heat. I had friends that went in August and said they didnt wait for anything and crowds were fine. Another Dis'er posted pics of wat times from all the rides with a 0 to 5 minute wait over the summer. Im sure its still busy, I just think a lot of people are catching on to the perks of going other times of year instead.

We just returned Monday and I would say that the crowds were the busiest I have seen for October.

It used to be that there were slow/non busy times of year but lately (within the last 4 years) it seems there is NO slow/non busy time. There's always something going on; Pop Warner, cheerleading events, dance competitions, marathons, etc.

It also seems that the word has gotten out. Maybe we can thank the DIS boards for that! People have heard from a friend, or a friend of a friend about the so called slow times and now everyone else is going too! :moped:

So far, every month we've gone to WDW lately has been fairly crowded ... early March, October/November, April/May. But the most crowded week we've ever been was this past first week of January! It just kills me when I read people give "advice" stating that the parks empty out right after New Years Day. Well that might have been true five years ago, but not anymore!

 I went the first week of Oct. this year and last. Last year it rained every day and there were NO crowds! This year....the opposite :teeth: We used to take the kids the first week of Dec. and it was GREAT! This year I'm going that week with a friend and the resort rooms are all SOLD OUT! :scared1:
