DW and I are considering the purchase of a travel trailer (for Disney and beyond), but we've never camped. I'd like to find a forum like the dis where I can learn as much as possible about rv's and camping in general. I'm not sure if posting other forums is ok, so I'll simply ask people to pm me with any references. I would really appreciate the help.

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving ........ I believe the attached link to the RV.Net Camping Forum should help!

Hello, Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to the camping forum. I spent a lot of time on the RV.net forums before deciding on a trailer and then learning more and more about RVs and camping.

Then, just to mix things up once in a while I go to the tow vehicle board over there and see how many people think I should tow a fifth wheel with my Toyota :rotfl2:. You'll understand if you troll around in that section for a while and search for threads about Toyota's or "how much can I tow". I have learned a lot and there are many very entertaining threads there.

As you progress and you learn more about RVing, you will start to get an idea of what type and model camper you are interested in. Then do a Google search on the particular models you are interested in and locate forums specific to that model. There are dozens out there. This will give you a better idea of what specific problems are associated with your model and give you an idea of what to expect. Keep in mind all trailers have some inherent problem, and part of the break in period for a trailer involves tweaking out these problems.

I love to hear folk interested in camping. RV's give you a much different and sometimes better range of places you can go to than stay'n at a hotel or resort.
Another nice thing about RVs , you can find a lot more fishing places , you can always take your pets with you,,
and yeah, I spose the kids can go too.
the process of looking is great fun,,enjoy.take your time and find one that fits ya'll.,

also once you decide on what rv you want you might want to check to see if there is a owners forum site for the brand you choose. You can get a lot of help from folks there also.
