General question about types of planes/change of aircraft for flight for someone who would know

I remember those days. That was also when you got a "meal", even on the short 90 minute flights. I used to LOVE getting into a wide body because of the radio selector in the arms or some even had the video screens in the seat backs.

ETA: Yes, the video screens are much more common now, but back then it was something special.
The Delta L-1011s had projectors that popped out of the ceiling. The flight attendants would have to pull out the screen panel, attach it to the ceiling, let us watch the safety demonstration, and then get the screen and put it away before the take off.

Then do it all again so we could watch the only movie shown.

I don't recall that. I remember the screens that were embedded in the ceiling now that you mention it.

I could not find a picture showing the removable screen but this one shows two of the projectors. The screen would be stowed for takeoff and landing but put out during flight about 5-7 rows in front of the projector.

So in this picture, a screen would be hung from the ceiling between these two projectors. The screen was about 3 seats wide and about 2 feet tall.

I hope I didn't give the impression that I doubted you, that wasn't the case. I just don't remember that. I vaguely remember looking at a single screen, maybe that's what it was.
