General Q about DVC

My wife and I are new to this but long time Disney fans and never took the time to sit down to get info on DVC. We were wondering if you can use DVC points at absolutely any Disney resort...such as the Poly or Contemporary? And what other type of destinations besides disney are available? What about the Cruiseline? And how do we find out how many points are needed for the above mentioned? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

Yes to all your questions. Points can be used at other hotels and cruise line. However, they are not as good of a deal at the 5 DVC resorts. If you are hung up on Monorail resorts, I would suggest not buying DVC or waiting until a DVC monrail resort is bult. Otherwise, check out our hotels, they are magnificent. I would suggest asking for and watching the video.

If you take the tour or request information there is a point chart for the cruise line and other non DVC hotels. The points are more expensive and they can go up every year unlike the DVC resorts.

My understanding is NO, you cannot use your DVC points at Wilderness Lodge, Yacht & Beach Club, or the Boardwalk Inn. My Advisor said at any resort with an attached DVC resort, you can only use points for a DVC Stay.

All other Disney Resorts can be had for points, often not the most economical use of points.

Hopefully some of the DVC Mavens will chime in!

You cannot use them at the Beach Club but you CAN use them at the Yacht Club. Odd but true.
