Hi, I didn't know if there was a general paris discussion forum so I figured this was the best place to post this, if not, feel free to move it to the relevant area please mods!

Anyway, I just booked a nice short break to paris from the second to the fifth of June for me and my girlfriend, flying to CDG from Glasgow.
Anyway problem is, I'm not that familiar with public transport in Paris, and I need to know how to get to my hotel from the airport! This is especially important as we have a relatively early flight on the last day and missing it would be unpleasent....

Anyway can anyone direct me towards a route planning site, or even better, give me your own directions? I'm staying at :
Hotel Saint Pierre
4 rue de l Ecole de Medecine

I believe it's near the latin quarter (a nice area, right?) anyway I need to know the best / fastest way to get there from CDG via public transport (except taxi, tres expensive!)

Oh and a second request if possible, what would be the best way to get to DRP from the hotel?

And FINALLY... (yes this is the last question).. I went onto the DRP paris website to try and book tickets cheap (I heard you get them a lot cheaper if you book in advance) and the month of June was completely unavailable, is this because it's too early? Or is it because the park is closed (I would assume and hope not!) and am I better trying to book them via the hotel anyway? ( I hear most hotels can give you a good discount)

Thanks for the helpp

Hi there!

At the top of this message board is a "sticky" labeled very useful information. In it you will find information on how to use the RER (train) to your hotel from the airport and how get to/from Disneyland Paris and your hotel.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1017060

The parks are definitely not closed in June nor is it too early to be booking. Perhaps the experts on these boards will know more info as to why that might not be showing up for you (I'm still learning too).

Happy Planning!

Thanks for the information bud, much appreciated. I've been to paris twice before but with my parents, so although I'm familiar with it to an extent I'll still kind of resemble a fish out of water :p I'm taking my girlfriend for her 18th birthday, (which will obviously entail DLP , beingthe big kids that we are) and I want to make sure everything goes smoothly! Thanks for the assistance.

Wow , looks like I really lucked out location wise, turns out I can get the RER line B straight from CDG terminal two to Notre-damme station, then walk three minutes to my hotel :cool1: furthermore, to get to DLRP I only need to go to aforementioned notre-damme station, go a couple of stops to Chatelet-Les Halles then change over to line A and I'm on my way straight there in less than an hour! Talk about awesome!

Thanks for the help bud!

Upon further inspections, websites other than the official DLRP site are letting you book tickets for June. I'm going to wait though, perhaps they're doing price revisions for May onwards? The calender for the parades etc is unavailable post april too which makes me think they may be planning a new event after the 15thA is over. In any case I'm content to wait :)

The website may be having issues - it keeps timing out on me this afternoon.

The calenders never seem to be for more than 3 months (at least when I've tried to look), but you can definitely still buy tickets etc.

Wow, that's lucky! :yay:

If you do decide to buy your tickets early, just in case there is a price increase after April, if you buy them from the official website they are all valid for one year from date of purchase, seehere.

Unfortunately the parade times are often very late in being put on the website but in June the OUAD parade will be on at 4pm. The 15th Celebration has been extended for a further year so you will also get to see Candleabration each evening. :thumbsup2

Wow, I didn't realise the 15thA was continuing, that's awesome!

I'm probably gonna get park tickets in a couple of weeks when I get paid, better to get in early by the looks of things. Thanks for the help!

Hello,
to go from your hotel Roissy CDG , you must take the "RER B" (about 40 minutes). You must take at Saint Michel Notre Dame the "RER B" and stop at the terminus Roissy Charles De Gaulle - attention at the direction of your RER. For this way, the cost is 8.20 € for one ticket, but for 10 tickets, the price is 6.56 € per ticket.

To get DRP from your hotel, you must take the metro : line 4 saint michel -> les halles, and take the RER A to Marne La Vallee - Chessy (Disneyland paris) or RER B saint michel -> Les Halles, and take the RER A. You will be arrived about 1 hour after leaving your hotel. The price is about 7 € per ticket, and for 10 ticket , about 5 €/ticket.

If you want to travel as you want with BUS, RER and metro, you can take "Ticket Mobilis".

Actually, it's impossible to buy ticket because pricing will change after the 05 April. How many days will you go at DLP ?

Hi there, the book of 10 tickets sounds like a good idea, can these be used only on the day you purchase them or afterwards?

We are only going to Disneyland for one day so it will be a one day two park ticket for each of us I assume.

Thanks for your help!

You can use the tickets when you want and for who you want (there's no name on the ticket). But, you buy tickets for a special trip (saint michel <-> DLP).

Good luck for your holidays ...

You dont buy the tickets for a special trip but for particular zones. For travel within central Paris on the metro you can buy the normal metro tickets or a book or 10 tickets (a carnet) which works out slightly cheaper. They can be shared amongst you. You need one ticket for each trip regardless of how many times you change as long as you dont go through the exit and as I say stay within zone 1.

Charles de Gaulle and DLP are both within zone 5 so a different type of ticket is needed for travel to the suburbs which is on the RER rather than metro. You can either buy a single ticket to zone 5 or to a particular station but again this entitles you to use the metro as well on that trip as long as you dont exit.
Another option is the mobilis ticket which you can buy for travel within particular zones and can use time and time again. You can buy mobilis tickets for 1 day, 2 days etc

google RER or Paris metro and you can get some good info on prices, maps etc

Thanks for your reply, I think I may just get single tickets then, because if I include me and my girlfriend, I will need 4 tickets for RER B (airport to hotel departure and return) and 4 for RER A (paris to disneyland) so it will probably not be worth the money by the sounds of things.

Just googled it for you. Mobilis ticket for zones 1-5 costs €12.50 each. This will last for one day and get you from CDG then allow you to use it on metro for rest of the day.
You could then buy another one on day going to DLP and this will get you there and back

There is also a Paris Visite ticket which can be bought for zones 1-6 and this costs €18 for one day (so more expensive) €27,50 for 2 days (so still more expensive than 2 days mobilis) €38,50 for 3 days and €47 for 5 days

One ticket from CDG would be €8.20 so on that day may be worth just getting single ticket as only going one way unless you intend to use metro a lot later on in day.

One way to DLP would be €6.30 so it would probably be better getting Mobilis ticket as few cents cheaper but will also allow you to use metro if needed to and from hotel

Hope this all makes sense

Wow! Thanks for the help. Looks like we'll just get a one ticket from CDG for 8.20 on each of the days we are travelling, as we plan on doing a lot of walking around the latin quarter on those days. Then getting the mobilis ticket for DLP on the day we go there. I'm sure i'll work it all out... somehow :pp

Thanks again!

In my post, i was speaking only about special trip ...

And sometimes or many times, the ticket "destination to destination" (in this cas CDG <-> Paris or Paris <-> DLP) has a lowest price than Mobilis. That's why, i mentionned Mobilis after ....

Are you agree with me ?

PS : sorry for my english written :flower3:

From what I understand (having checked the RATP website), the Mobilis ticket is not valid for travel to/from the airport.

You might have this website handy:

If you do an itinerary, there is an option where it will show you the price of tickets, so you can see the total of what you'd spend using single ride tickets.
