I've never been and I'm wondering how long lines are mid-end of October without express pass?

Can you buy express pass the same day or do they sell out?

I would be going one day. What month should I purchase tickets by before they sell out?(I'm assuming you pick a specific date for ticket?)

Do you need a general park admission ticket for the same day you attend HHN in addition to the HHN ticket?

Express Pass sells out sometimes but not until pretty close to the date - one day tickets rarely sell out. The bigger issue with either, is the likeliness that the prices will go up (sometimes drastically) as the date nears. If you know your date and can buy within the first week they're available, that will be the cheapest pricing.

You do not need a park admission ticket, however with only a HHN ticket you will only be able to enter the park at 6pm once HHN starts. There will be a massive crowd at the gates. If you are staying on site, there is an on site hotel HHN entrance which will help.

Check out thrill-data.com for the wait times. It'll vary wildly by the date/day of week, the weather, the time of night, popularity of the house, etc. During the busiest time 7pm-10pm, probably 40-90min+ on average. At the end of the night after 1am, probably 15min for less popular houses and still 40-60min for the most popular ones. Friday & Sat nights will be busiest and most expensive. Around Columbus day will also be very expensive and packed, along with the weekend before Halloween. Probably Halloween itself this year also, being a Friday.

If you know a time you're going to go buy as soon as they're available. It will not get cheaper and price will only go up.

You can buy same day if they're still available, but it will be VERY expensive.
