General Concierge Question

We are staying for 3 weeks this year, our first two at AKL and our second at the Polynesian (concierge).

My question is, will the concierge service at the Poly be able to arrange my PS's, Illumations Cruise bookings etc for the WHOLE 3 weeks, or just the week we are at the Poly???

It would be imposing on the CMs to ask them to plan your 2 week stay before your CL at the Poly and I believe they would tell you no. I would ask them to make dinner reservations the night before but I would feel uncomfortable to have them do more. Enjoy your trip to the Poly.

I would suggest that you ask them what their policy is. Typically they will extend their service as a courtesy, but I've only seen that happen when it's been a few nights and not 2 weeks. They'd be the best ones to answer that question for you.

Thank you both. I really do not know what their policy is, so I have emailed them as suggested. It is not a problem as I have always arranged my own PSs anyway (and this time my travel agent has also offered as well).

I will post the answer I get, in case it helps others.

Allie, this may actually end up being an unwritten policy that's reveiwed on a guest by guest basis. I imagine it depends on how much extra you are asking them to do, how many additional days it involves, how busy they are with other guests and quite possibly the area of the world that you're coming in from. I noticed that you live in England and that could quite possibly make a difference to them. I've seen it reported that it can sometimes be difficult for the overseas folks to make some of these PS phone calls. Perhaps if you just asked about the more difficult ones like Illuminations and character meals and offered to take care of the others on your own?

The only "problem" booking I have ever had was for the Illuminations Cruise (never been able to book this yet, though have shared one with other DISers!). I can easily do that in our "Poly" week, so that should be OK for them to handle.

My DD doesnt want to do CRT this year (done it 3 times now) so everything else will be very straightforward.

Thanks again for the reply. I think you are right, it probably IS something they do at their own discretion. I just want this trip to be perfect...it took a lot persuading for DH to stay onsite (we usually dont), so Im just trying to get it all to come together!
