Joanne, im catching up on chores today, so don't feel too bad

The kids are out at the leisure centre and dh is at work so its lovely and peaceful here

Just got back from the dentist, iv'e got an infection so i am on antibiotics now. He said it is because there is too much of the tooth exposed which would explain why hot and cold drinks hurt like hell. He put some white stuff all over and around the tooth which he said would help it.

Anyway if it settles down he said there was no need to go back but if not he started talking about root fillings

Hope the antibiotics work for you

I have my last night shift tonight until February (thanks to lots of leave left!) Last night was very quiet in town, no doubt it will be different tonight where we will be a blue light taxi for people

We're having a quiet, lazy day today too. We had brekkie at BHS this morning, and hopefully I won't have to remove myself from in front of my laptop or TV till it's time to get a takeaway for tea tonight

It is as the hospitals hate when we bring in the drunks as its a waste of a bed. We only had one yesterday who hurt himself pretty bad & then was sick in the ambulance, so we had to go of the road to clean it out. Making it one less resource on the road

Yay ! I got Paul a few bags of Mini-Eggs this morning. There were lots of mini eggs and creme eggs in our local B&M

Thank you to both Natalies and Joh who kindly offered to get me some and for all the PM's of suggestions of where I may find them

That's it, my Crimbo shopping is well and truly done

.. and I also picked up a nice pair of black shoes from New Look this morning for £7 ~ bargain !!!!!

Just remembered my dream last night Mandy after your post, dreamt about cream eggs .

Nothing really exciting happening here, just picked the youngest son up from uni so he can study at home for the day, saw the eldest son out because he is working. Just busy doing the house, lighting Yankee candles at the moment. Probably will try and Christmas shop on the internet at some point.

I've just assessed my collection of Christmas prezzies and it's not looking great! I have next to nothing for my sons and waaay too much for my daughter!!! My poor husband isn't that well-represented either!!! Fortunately the rellies are sorted and they're the first to receive (going up on Saturday) so no problems there.

Sooo I NEED TO GET MY GIFTING HAT ON - QUICKLY!!!!

One Nativity down, one to go today.

I also went to my local Disney store looking for a Tink plush, I got the Peter Pan in DLRP but wanted the Tink to go with it - none in store. Came home and it's reduced to £10 from £16 on the Disneystore website so thats my last gift done It looks really nice as well, she has a removable winter cape - v.cute.

I also just heard that I'm going to the filming of the Strictly Christmas Special on Monday what a way to kick start Christmas, Darren and Lillia are doing a group dance so my friend Jayne got two tickets this morning.
I feel a bit sorry for her as they weren't initially picked and because she felt guilty that she wasn't able to get tickets for me and another friend this year she planned an open house this coming Sunday which they are invited to, so now she will have all the trouble of the party on Sunday, taking me to Strictly on Monday and then we're off to Harrods on Tuesday with the children to see Father Christmas - I think she will have had enough of me by Chrismtas.

I have next to nothing for my sons and waaay too much for my daughter!!! My poor husband isn't that well-represented either!!! Fortunately the rellies are sorted and they're the first to receive (going up on Saturday) so no problems there.

Guys are the hardest to buy for (though Paul is very easy with liking Mini-eggs ), Good Luck at getting some inspiration

I'm so excited, Mand. You have to leave your phones and cameras at the door but you get them back for the after show I'm tempted to go out and buy a new compact camera - my DSLR isn't very clutch friendly......oh my god.....what am I going to wear?!?!??!

I'm adamant that if D&L are at Jayne's on Sunday I'm going to ask Darren to dance a cha cha with eldest DD and have my video camera at the ready! That would be all her christmas wishes come true!

Hope you manage to get some more gifts for the guys. I've really struggled with Lee this year. I wrapped his up yesterday and he has got loads of dvd's and not much else.

Well, all back to "normal" tomorrow. I'm lucky that I have a slighty staggered re-entry into the real world with youngest DD going back to preschool tomorrow and eldest going back to school on Tuesday.

All in all we've had a lovely christmas, DH has been off since 24th December which is very unusual for him it's been lovely but I'm ready for some normality now.

Our NYE was rubbish, which sadly could have been avoided as we got let down by a friend which led to a pretty sad chain of events, but we're over it now and the upside to come out of it was that my in-laws saw how disappointed we were and we had a bit of a heart to heart with them that we need to ask for more help Yesterday they actually called me up and said they "wanted" to have eldest DD on her inset day tomorrow ALL DAY to help them pack away their decorations etc. This is a first and it's really lovely that at last somebody has requested the company of one of my children

Sorry to hear your NYE was a let down Joanne, i hope the next few days goes well for you...i too have a staggered re-entry, back at work tomorrow but kids not back at school till tues im not looking forward to the alarm tomorrow mind you and after a quiet month in december next week is looking to be a busy one !!

Happy New Year to everyone as well - been a bit quiet on the DIS as late - lurking more than anything but determined to get back into things !!! Life gets in the way sometimes

DH is back to work tomorrow but the kids dont go back to Thursday

Joanne, sorry you didn't have a great NYE.

We had a lovely xmas and a very quiet new year, the weather is still really bad and getting about is very tricky.
Dh is back to work on Wed but the kids aren't back to school until next Monday so we still have a whole week before normality returns.

Has everyone still got snow or has it all gone now? We still have loads and it keeps coming getting a couple of inches nearly everyday. And next weekend its meant to be very cold about -20C up here .
On the plus side everywhere is very pretty and we went on a very long walk today, about 8 miles, and it was lovely. Although I now have a blister on my wee toe

Oh no was hoping the snow was shifting. I have my DD flying from Aberdeen tomorrow and the forecast has been snow for days but so far there is only snow showers. She is on the first plane out of Aberdeen and if its delayed she then will miss her connecting flight at Heathrow. Its bad enough being delayed when travelling with someone but when you are young and on your own its a nightmare. Fingers crossed.

On a lighter note can't wait to see her so need to get her room organised today. She will be here for nearly 4 weeks.
