Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

A float and an iced coffee sounds good right now. IF i had to choose one, i'd go for a float since it's late at night.

5 weeks!!!:cool1::cool1:

Hope you all had a fun meet today. I saw one of the pictures and I instantly smiled.

Have a great time today!

We did. We pushed a bunch of table together and had a long row of DIS people chowing down on various food court selections. We ate and talked and then went over to the Disney Store together. It was good to see everyone, and it was especially nice for some people to get to meet for the first time.

Have a great meet today! It sounds like fun.

I hope they have some good shopping at the Disney Store. I'll be in Fernandina Beach, and there's a Disney Store in Jacksonville.... hmmmmmm, that gives me an idea

I got a set of the Mickey plates like you got. They were 40% off. I think Marc and Anita got a few sets of those, too.

I'm sitting here at work on a break and I was thinking about all of you and your DISmeet today.
So excitting!!! Wish I was there!!!

If I was there I would order Chick fil A for my lunch and I would happily go along for the shopping at the Disney Stores.

Have fun ladies...drive safe everyone!

Can't wait to see pics and hear what fun stuff you came home with.

Several people did get Chick-Fil-A. Some of us got Chinese. Subway was also represented.

The rental car Jill got was so smooth. It was a Camry, and it a lot of storage space in the trunk. The drive itself was not bad at all, as the girls slept some both ways and they watched a movie for some of the time they were awake. They did very well, so it was a pleasant drive.

so sad to hear about that diser! We had some bad storms here on Wed night. I was on my way home and just praying I made it there. We made it home fine and there was no activity at our house (it was mostly in the town where we work) I don't think I have ever seen the sky soo black! There were tornados but none ever touched down. Thankfully!

Caleb fell asleep while we were on Nemo in Epcot and was out for a long time. He also slept during the whole Move it shake it parade too! LOL!

We went to the Columbus zoo on sunday and we saw an opaki (I think it is called?) the one that they have on the safari in AK that has the zebra looking behind. So it was my disney touch there. Caleb also lost his sippy cup in the monkey pit. Dropped it right down there...luckily there was a barrier there so at least the monkeys could not get it! LOL!

Hope you all have a great meet and a wonderful weekend! We are heading to my two nieces birthday parties tonight and then up to the Cleveland area tommorow for my niece's birthday party tommorow! Caleb is very excited for cake and ice cream. He said "I like cake" "I like parties". though not to sure where he would remember being at a party! LOL!

You almost go your animal right. It was an okapi. And to further your educational does for the day, do you remember which animal it is most closely related to?

And to further my education - I do know that you don't start sentences with and or end them in prepositions, but I do it anyway. ;)

I bet those monkeys would have quite enjoyed playing with Caleb's sippy cup! :dance3:

We were going to make a bathroom and food stop yesterday on the way to Atlanta, so we pulled off teh exit at Ringgold. We saw the trees chopped and cropped as we pulled off the ramp, but when we turned onto the road, all we could see were destroyed restaurants and gas stations. I'm putting up pictures of that when I tell about the DIS meet. It was really sad. We thought about all the people who were in those buildings when the destruction happened and knew it had to be a horrible experience.

Just wanted to pop in to say hope you had a great meet in Atlanta!! Wish I lived closer!!! Also have a wonderful holiday weekend!!!
Just order pins and lanyards for our July trip...have to get Solomon and Abby started early!!!

They will enjoy pin trading. It's fun to watch kids make their choices and then smile so big when they receive a brand new pin. :goodvibes

I forgot to mention that I was watching HGTV this afternoon and on monday june 6th @ 8pm...a new show is coming on called ....My Yard goes Disney....they are making over peoples backyards disney style. Its definitely set on my dvr. After that is a new show called House Hunters on Vacation. Not sure how that one is going to work..if its just picking a vacation...or are they buying a house while they are on vacation...guess I will have to wait until june 6th to find out! LOL!

We are absolutely going to be watching HGTV's new Disney show! :cool1:

My favorite float is chocolate ice cream and rootbeer. That probably sounds gross to most, but I love it!

We did have fun. It was so nice to be in a Disney Store again. We went to two of them.

*******************************************

So, we did our big Atlanta meet yesterday. It wasn't as big as it could have been, as Heather's bunch went to the lake (schmake), Darlene was having some eye issues, and Ronda's family had a family graduation activity. Also, Dawn had mentioned a couple of other DIS people that she knew, but they ended up having other obligations. Had all of those people show up with all family members in tow, we would have filled our little alcove in the food court. It was a lot of fun. We pushed some tables togethes and just had a row all together by one long bench. Those present were:Anita, Marc, Baylor, Jackie, Chelsea, Connor, Elaine, me, Jill, Brooklynn, Bella, Dawn, Dawn's mom, and Seth.

On the way to Atlanta, as we pulled off to get something to eat and get a stretch/restroom break, we saw this sadness.

Just think of the memories the people must have who were in those places during the tornado. It's just a very sad situation.

Friday night, Anita, Marc, and Baylor stopped over and slept in the town right next to us, so we had visited with them for a little while. They were on the road at the same time we were, and we were texting back and forth, but we had to make an extra stop with the girls, so they got there ahead of us. We were in the parking lot when I got the 'Where are you?' text. Anita said they were at the top of the escalator with Elaine (micandminforever).

Right after we got upstairs, Jackie and her kids showed up.

Next came Dawn, her mom, who was also Elaine, and Seth.

Seth-man was gnawing away on some Peter Pan bootsies.

After we ate, the whole crew went to see Mr. Mickey.

What a glorious sight to behold - a Disney Store!

A store full of Disney things ready to be put into Disney sacks and paid for with a Disney credit card. :)

For the patriotic holidays.

I really wanted two sets and the silverware, but I controlled myself. ;)

Bella was excited about this soccah ball.

A Rapunzel gown was one of Brooklynn's purchases.

May2010AtlantaDISMeet034.jpg

These little dresses are so sweet. They look much better in person than in the pictures.

May2010AtlantaDISMeet035.jpg

I wanted these, too, but wasn't willing to pay $5.50 for them.

A bunch of awesome DIS kids.

May2010AtlantaDISMeet043.jpg

From this store, everyone parted ways. Everyone was going to do normal things - Elaine to check on her mom, Jackie to pack for her beach trip, Dawn to get Seth a nap, us to go do some more shopping....

except for Marc, Anita, and Baylor.
Nothing ordinary for them.

They were going to DISNEY WORLD!!! :goofy: :donald: :mickeyjum

Good to see everyone together and enjoying the meet! :goodvibes

I spy Chick Fil A.....yumm!

What a great score on the plates and getting them on sale! Glad you were able to get a set for yourself. :thumbsup2

I kick myself that I didn't get the pitcher to match.

Cute 4th of July stuff...I see Wig'd likes it too!

So great that they were able to join this meet and you got to spend some time with them.

They have an awesome trip ahead of them...:woohoo:

Did Brooklynn find her meercat?

Looks like you guys had a great meet!!!

I wanted these, too, but wasn't willing to pay $5.50 for them.

May2010AtlantaDISMeet038.jpg

Hahaha when I saw the first set, I was like "You can get 100x that many paper clips for the same price at Staples!" then when I scrolled down to the Stitch ones "ohhhh those are so cute!!!" :rolleyes1

I love Disney Stores, but I have to walk through at a brisk pace!!

Awwwww what an amazing DIS meet!! Looks like a lot of fun was had and nothing beats Disney shopping!! Once again nothing better to start my morning than shopping with MeMom!!!!

Glad you guys had a great time!!

"no" white is as big as Bella! LOL! She is too darn cute!

Looks like it was a super fun day! So glad you all were able to do it. And thank you for sharing!

The Disney store had all kinds of neat buys. I'm sure you'll enjoy those cute Mickey plates!!

Very nice Dis meet! Wish I could have been there, but I can get to Disney in about the same amount of time that I can get to Atlanta (which is a very long time :sad2: ). Looks like you had fun though. My DD got almost that same Rapunzel gown that Brooklyn did. They had two styles that are almost the same but my DD got the other one. She loves it! She is going to wear it for a costume b/c she can't stand the ones that are made to be costumes. They are so itchy and hot. But those deluxe gowns are perfect! They are thin and silky and best of all... not itchy! DD wants the Cinderella one too. That one is gorgeous!

Loved the Mickey plates and 40%off is nice! I was tempted by those too, but they weren't on sale, so I passed.

Looks like a very fun way to spend a day!

Great deal on the plates! I spy the bowl I purchased as well (full price). I really, really miss our Disney store, but it probably saves me a ton of money not having one.

That is a really great looking group of Disney kids!(minus baby Seth) I'm glad y'all had a great visit and Disney shopping trip. Wish I could have made it. :sad1: And I know Anita, Marc and Baylor are already having a blast at the "World".

What an awesome DIS meet! One day, I will be at one of those, I swear to it! I saw some pictures on FB yesterday and new you guys were having a great time :thumbsup2

I can't believe how big all the DIS kids are getting!

Dawn- I love your hair! Did you get some highlights? It looks great!

Looks like you all had a great time.

I can't imagine going through those tornadoes.

I love those dresses, too. Whenever I go to the Disney store, all I can think of is how much I would have loved one of those when I was a little kid.

The picture of Bella and "No White" is so cute! The doll is nearly as big as she is!

Did Brooklynn find her meercat?

Jill told me this morning that she thought Anita ended up with two sets and plates and silverware.

Just what I wanted.

The thing is, we brought their sack home so they wouldn't have to travel with it, since they are coming back through here on their way home.

Soooo, I could swap out Anita's Disney goodies for a few bricks, tie the sack shut, and she'd never know until she got back to Kansas. :rolleyes1

:ssst:

The Memorial/Independence/patriotic stuff was cool. I'm taking my old Mickey Fourth shirt on the trip, but if I find a cool new Mickey Fourth shirt, I might get one. It just depends on what they look like and the cost.

I bet you could order the pitcher on Disneyshopping right now, and possibly for a discount.

As of now, there has been no meerkat purchase.

They are cute, but $5.50 for four was a bit much, I thought. Two packs for that, and I might have considered it. ;)

Glad you guys had a great time!!

Glad you enjoyed the shopping pictures. I would have had more, but I was in charge of watching Bella. She had her own balls in the bag agenda that didn't allow for much picture taking on my part.

Looks like a great meet!! Can't wait to see some of those faces in person soon

Jill and I are jealous that there are so many DIS friends down there together. You guys, as you all come and go, will have a lot of great meets! Anita and Doreen were able to meet last night - Anita's crew was arriving and Doreen had to leave today, so they made the effort to hook up last night.

"no" white is as big as Bella! LOL! She is too darn cute!

She's a mess, that one. She has found a new love in singing, and she's pretty hilarious with some of her verses. :cutie:

The Disney store had all kinds of neat buys. I'm sure you'll enjoy those cute Mickey plates!!

We broke the plates in this morning with some chocolate chip pancakes. :thumbsup2 Brooklynn chose red, because it is her new favorite color, having taken over purple. She chose orange for Bella, blue for Jill, and the official DIS color of lime green for me. The pancakes tasted extra good on those plates. :goodvibes

Did you see my sneaky plan to acquire more plates earlier in this post? ;)

Jill mentioned the fact that we could go south another few hours, go to DTD to shop and spend the night instead of stay in Atlanta and come on home. :upsidedow

I am totally with you on the dresses. The real dresses are so pretty, but they're hard to wear for long. The gown Brooklynn got was very comfortable and can easily be a dress if she want it to be.

Great deal on the plates! I spy the bowl I purchased as well (full price). I really, really miss our Disney store, but it probably saves me a ton of money not having one.

I am sure I have saved several hundred, as well, not having a Disney Store. I just don't know where I did spend it, though, cuz I sure don't have it in my pocket!!!

That is a really great looking group of Disney kids!(minus baby Seth) I'm glad y'all had a great visit and Disney shopping trip. Wish I could have made it. And I know Anita, Marc and Baylor are already having a blast at the "World".

Next time we come to Memphis, you've gotta get over there. ::yes::

After traveling all day, they went to Magic Kingdom and stayed until midnight last night. They have some stamina; yes, they do! :woohoo:

What an awesome DIS meet! One day, I will be at one of those, I swear to it! I saw some pictures on FB yesterday and new you guys were having a great time :thumbsup2

I can't believe how big all the DIS kids are getting!

Dawn- I love your hair! Did you get some highlights? It looks great!

Shouldn't you be out driving around in that fancy NEW CAR of yours? :rotfl:

Our kiddies are growing up, aren't they? When you guys get down here in the south, you can come to some of our meets, right? :cool1:

Looks like you all had a great time.

I can't imagine going through those tornadoes.

It was a mess. To see it in pictures is bad enough, but to drive through it - it just gives me a yucky feeling. I think about kids who were probably playing in that McDonald's as things started to get bad. It had to be so scary for everyone. I read an article about a man in Joplin who was in the hospital with serious injuries requiring several surgeries. One was for his arm that had been injured as he tried to hold his teenage son down, but the wind got the best of them and carried him away. It just sent chills through me and made me cry to think of that. It's just so surreal and so horrible.

The DIS meet was fun. I appreciate everyone making the efforts/journeys to get there. Having enjoyable times with family and friends becomes even more valuable after things like the tornadoes remind us to be grateful for every day.

What an awesome DIS meet!

I love those dresses, too. Whenever I go to the Disney store, all I can think of is how much I would have loved one of those when I was a little kid.

The picture of Bella and "No White" is so cute! The doll is nearly as big as she is!

The girls each ended up with a doll from the Tinkerbell Fairy collection.

Bella filled her bag with balls, lugged it over to visit No White for a minute, then lugged it back up front to check out some beach towels. I just followed the little nut around until it was time to put the balls and bag up.

It doesn't seem like Katie likes to have a bunch of DIS meets when she's down there, which is fine, because it does take up precious Disney time, but if you talk to her, you might tell her how many awesome people are down there right now or will be in the next few days. There may be some she might want to cross paths with. She's probably at the POFQ pool right now, according to FB. What a nice thought!

It looks like you guys had a fun and successful Dis meet! It is so nice to see everyone together enjoying Mickey- even if it was in Atlanta and not in Orlando.

I might make it to our Disney outlet next week, I have to get to Ikea to purchase a new toy storage unit for Everett, and the outlets are right across the street! Those plates look super cute, I'll have to be on the lookout!

What a great DIS meet!
All of the kids are growing up so much.
Love the little princess dresses. Too cute!

Orlando would have been a tad bit funner :cool1: for sure, but this was a nice Disney touch.

I hope you do find the plates - and on sale. :thumbsup2

All caught up! What a fun DIS Meet, I want to go to the Disney Store now...

We went to a second one later on. Since we don't have any Disney Stores here any more, we wanted a big dose of Disney while we were near three of them. I have a few pictures from that one, too.

What a great DIS meet!

They are growing up. Baylor and Chelsea really are growing into young adults. ::yes::
