Geen Yight - She's Out of Sight: A Trip of Leaps and Bounds

Hey memom and Jill :wave2: Sorry I'm speaking up so late, I just stumbled upon the DIS and discovered your trip report pretty late. I adore your girls :lovestruc and i enjoy looking at all your lovely pictures. Just wanted to join in on the chit-chat

Hi MeMom. PM me your cell # by Friday so I can send you some pics. What time are you meeting on the 28th? You just may get some pics from me before then.:)

Done. :)

Anita said probably about twelve.

I hope to get to the point that I don't feel so addicted to it. I do plan to activate my account again in the future. Chuck's ship comes out of the maintenance yards soon and will be gone a lot so I'll need the company! ;-)

We haven't done much to the house since the last time I posted on Facebook so you haven't missed much.

I have reconnected with several old friends, and it's been fun to see their grown kids and grandkids, but we just touch base every so often.

We will enjoy seeing the adventures of your boys again.

Thanks Punkin for the encouraging words...;)

I should try it. One day....:rotfl:

I'm glad you had the courage to give it a try. :thumbsup2

I know it's a favorite ride of alot of people, so I'm a tiny bit curious.

You have to make your own choices, though. A lot of people like Mission:Space, too, but unless it opens up a third line - a wide open space capsule ;) - I won't be trying it out.

It took me a few years before I would try it also but once I did I LOVED it also. You have a seat belt & bars you can hang on to (which I do hang on). We just love it now. This trip I may be brave & not hold on to the bars.

I'm usually taking pictures, so my hands are occupied. :goodvibes

Hi there
Ive been lurking a lot lately. Between my mom having a minor heart attack last week and all the end of year school things for both me and my DD. But...TODAY is my last day of school. I have to attend the students graduation on Sat but that is more fun than work so from that point its 100 (not 104 phineas.) days of summer vacation!

Memom how are the girls today?

Sorry to hear about your mom.

Enjoy your time off! :cool1:

They're fine again.

I think you should definitely do it!:thumbsup2 It's really not as bad as you think! And I have seen the system and how it works with my own eyes and how many people are watching you to keep you safe! If you want we can do it together! It's definitely worth it! DBFF is not a ride person but that and Rock'N'Roller Coaster have become her two favourite rides (because I make her go on them ;))

:woohoo:I encourage you not to hold on! :woohoo:

I would hate to get stuck on the closed elevator part, but other than that, I like it.

I can't help it. My hands automatically go to those bars!! But I will TRY to not hang on.

Make a crazy face for us next time, and maybe arms in the air.

:worship: I love it when I stumble upon one of your trip reports!! It helps me to get through all the time I have to pass until my next trip in September :lovestruc

Glad to help, of course. We hope you will stick around for the next six weeks while we finish it out.

I have been keeping up just not posting lately. I'm glad you had a Happy Mother's Day. School is almost out for you! Yippee! Our home school still has a while to go. :sad2: We take more days off than a school system does but it bites us in the end. :headache:

I imagine you take some very cool field trips.

I was back on the Small World DIS Meet - Henry happened to be sitting on my lap when I came upon that update and he INSTANTLY recognized Brooklynn! :thumbsup2 Then I kept scrolling and, "Hey! That's me!" and then he remembered how we all met. Such a fun meet!

And ah, Peter Pan. I wonder how many times we rode in that trip...at least 5...probably more!

I love your flower pictures-just beautiful.

Sorry to hear about the canceled Spring trip. But, looking forward to the AoA resort will be a lot of fun! Have you seen the recent pictures that were released at the D23 event? It looks awesome!!!!

I hope those 2 little girls are feeling better by now! I never saw an update on Bella's finger-I probably missed it being so far behind! :sad2: -was it broken or anything? How is it?

Bella's finger is fine. It looked like they might end up having to take the tip of the finger, it was SO flat, but it poofed back up. :thumbsup2

We have six weeks left on this one, and we'll be heading to WDW again. Feel free to join the conversation.

Hope the girls are feeling better!

The new Pooh queue looks like so much fun! Can't wait to try it out!

You have to make your own choices, though. A lot of people like Mission:Space, too, but unless it opens up a third line - a wide open space capsule ;) - I won't be trying it out.

I agree. I just wanted to make sure you knew that I was scared of that very thing before I rode it and now I love it! :thumbsup2

And unless they make a non-bird version of Flights of Wonder, I will never be seeing it, either! :rotfl:

You failed to tell about the crack in the sidewalk or the color of the concrete, but other than that, you're goooood! ;)

Is it crazy that I know that??

I could probably tell you more details about Disney than I could about my own neighborhood. :rolleyes1

I wanted to wait until I knew Bella's finger was ok to tell you this story. When I was 4 and my brother was 2 we were at some friends of my parents for supper. They were an older couple and they had a formal dining room that had white carpet. Well at the end of their table they had an exercise bike :confused3. Since db and I were so young and they had nothing for us to play with we were naturally attracted to the bike. We were taking turns riding on it and then one time it was his turn and I wasn't letting him on it. He reached out and grabbed the chain with his left hand (he is left handed) at the same time my dad saw him reaching and yelled no but he was just a second to late. Db's thumb (at the knuckle) was cut almost all the way off. It cut all the way through the bone and was only still connected by ONE nerve and that was it. :scared1: I remember thinking he was going to die because of all the blood and my dad who was a Forest Ranger for the state at had a truck that had a siren in it so after putting db's hand in a bowl of ice he was off. He called a friend who was a state trooper and he met my dad on the way and they went to a hospital with their sirens blaring. The first hospital told them their was nothing they could do so they left that one and rushed to a bigger hospital about 45 min away. The Lord had it so at the second hospital there was a dr who said he would try to sew it back on but he had never done that and didn't know if it would work. He did and soon my db's thumb turned black but they kept him in the hospital and watched him and soon it turned back to it's normal color and started to heal. He had metal rods inserted down each side of his thumb nail to help it heal too. Keep in mind this was 30 years ago and they started calling it a miracle and the dr who didn't believe in God told my mom that all of our prayers and our church families prayers were working. His thumb healed completely. He has his thumb and the only side effects are, hardly any feeling in that thumb (from the nerve damage), that he gets really bad hang nails where they inserted the rods, a scar from the stitches, and he can move the top half of his thumb from side to side with out moving the bottom half because the bone never grew back together.:rotfl:

When I heard about Bella's accident that was the first thought that crossed my mind and I knew she would be ok, however I really didn't want to freak you out so I waited to tell you.

daisylove I'm going to say a little prayer for your DMom. :grouphug:

Don't worry Memom I will always make my own decisions. ;)

sunny_stace if I ever do decide to go on ToT...it would be fun to do it with a DIS friend. :goodvibes

Glad to hear the girls are all better, Lexi is too. :thumbsup2

I did share this on FB and thought I'd come over here as well. Our little grandson Hunter has been taken to the ER with a temp of 105.

OK, Keeley just called, he has Bronchiolitis. I know, I've never heard of it either.
He will have to go in for breathing treatments three times a day. I'm not sure how long this will go on.

Hope the girls are feeling better!

Your kids will love it! pooh:

You know, Flights of Wonder was something I put on the list for our October trip with the two granddaughters. I think, as a first-timer, Brianna would enjoy it, and Brooklynn hasn't seen it in a while. We can send a picture, if you want. :goodvibes

Is it crazy that I know that??

You are a plethora of Disney information. You have found the right place to hang out and help people. :thumbsup2

She was lucky that her finger was so tiny, I think. Even at that, it was so flat where the chain was that I thought they were going to have to cut it off. I'm not one to panic or over-dramatize, but it looked really gross.

Well, IF you do ever go on ToT, it should be with a DIS friend. That would make it even more special. :)

I hate that his fever got so high, but I am glad the doctors are right on everything now. Bronchiolitis affects a different part of the bronchi, like maybe the bronchioles. It's some little technicality to us, but doctors are specific about things, of course. My co-teacher's granddaughter has had it, and she got a high fever, too.
We will all pray for him to be feeling better quickly! :yay:

I'm back from our trip and all caught up! Isn't it such a disappointment to come back to the real world?, but reading your TR is one bright spot of my return.

We had a fantastic trip and the wheels are already turning in my head for the next one. Oct is DH's 30th birthday and we'll be married 5 years in July, so I think that is cause for celebration, don't you? I casually mentioned over dinner that Disney has extended the military discounts until next September, and he said" 40% off deluxes, maybe we can stay at the Contemporary in Oct", you better believe I'm going to turn that maybe into a YES! ;)

Oh and thanks to everyone who followed along, I'm sorry that my updates didn't make it to facebook the first two days, I was updating through gowalla so I could do both my twitter and FB at once, but there was some trouble. I did get it all figured out and I hope that the last two days brought some disney magic into your life!

Great updates as usual Memom, looks like the weather improved and you guys made the most of a day at the MK!

Thanks Memom and canadianwdwfan last week was a little scary but my mom is doing well now. Anita i hope the baby is better .it is so hard when the little ones are sick.

Yes, coming back to the real world is a shock to the system sometimes.

I definitely think October should be a celebration time! :dance3:

Glad to hear it. :)
It gets to everyone when one member of a family is down.

Time to cruise.

Who would take us on our adventure?

Connie?

IMG_1444.jpg

No.

Wanda?

IMG_1445.jpg

Nope, not Wanda.

The easy life of a Disney duck.

IMG_1447.jpg

I may be changing my mind about this cruise.

IMG_1448.jpg

IMG_1449.jpg

The name of our transportation was...

IMG_1450.jpg

Being who I am, I had to look up Bomokandi. It is also known as Democratic Republic of Congo.

I guess Democratic Republic of Congo Debbie was too long to fit on the sign? ;)

IMG_1452.jpg

Why this ride is an old time classic. :)

IMG_1453.jpg

IMG_1455.jpg

You think these guys will ever get the point? :rotfl:

IMG_1456.jpg

:lmao:

What?
You've heard that one before?

Never mind. :upsidedow

IMG_1458.jpg

The elephants are always kind enough not to spray us, but it is funny to watch the first-timers duck.

From adventure in the jungle to adventure at sea -

IMG_1462.jpg

A CM saw me take that picture and told me to come and take a picture of the skull rock, too.

IMG_1463.jpg

Well I am a little embarrassed to say you got some pics of things I don't recall seeing. I don't remember a tarantula in a cage but it has been a while since I've been on a jungle cruise. And I don't know if I've seen skull rock either! I'm making a mental note to check both of those out next time.

Hope you have a great weekend! :)

Skull rock? Another new one on me. I'd love to go on a tour of WDW with the imagineers who planned the parks and have them point out all this kind of stuff that I overlook. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I've ridden Jungle Cruise multiple times, it's one of my favorite rides ever, and I STILL duck every time! I swear, the day I don't, those elephants are going to spray me!!

Hmmm I've never seen this skull rock either :confused3
Love the Jungle Cruise and that it really hasn't changed since I was a little girl :goodvibes
October 15 is my arrival date too :thumbsup2 I always have an early am flight too so we will be zombiefied together :rotfl:
