Gee Whiz - I wish I had the time...

Hey,If I can ask stoopid questions so can you !!

We colour our eggs(we are talkin hard boiled here right) then we roll them down a hill...I think its to symbolise the stone rollin away from the entrance of Jesus's cave !!

Very cool! I never knew that. Sounds like a wonderful tradition.

This year we're not coloring eggs. DD is 13 and neither she, nor DH, eat hard boiled eggs. Just me and I don't need the jump in my cholestrol count. Didn't even bother with the whole Easter basket thing this year, just a little one, and $50 in Disney dollars for our upcoming trip in August/September.

I need more info on the egg rolling. Is it a contest to see who has the fastest egg or does everyone do it just for fun? Aren't the eggs all beat up after this? Curious minds need to know.

We used to hide a golden egg with the hardboiled ones. The golden egg had $20 in it. My son had a hissy fit every year because my niece was the one who always found it. He always thought it was done on purpose; I guess he couldn't deal with the fact that she was smarter than he was (even tho she was 3 years younger). I do not miss the drama.

I wish you good luck. I have one brother I did not get along with and we went 10 years without speaking and it was so hard on my parents. My mother chose not to have a 50th anniversary celebration due to this. After I got cancer, I decided that I could be the bigger person and attended a function where I knew he'd be there. That was 2 years ago and we are not friends, never will be, but we can be in same room now and engage in conversation. In fact, we'll be seeing him and his wife tomorrow when we go to my other brother's home for the afternoon.

Oh, and my China trip has now been postponed until June. That works out better for me since my husband is having surgery at the end of this month and I really felt guilty that I was choosing a trip to China over him (note that I felt guilty but I was still going :rotfl:).

To Pakey and everyone else who has shared their good wishes and stories: Thank you! I don't really want anything from him, other than maybe to exchange Christmas and Birthday cards and keep in touch, even if it's just through facebook or emails. We never had a falling out, sort of just grew apart. He was the child of my father and a woman other than my mother. He also has a brother and sister whom I haven't seen in many years, but with him being the oldest, I was really closer to him than the others. The middle brother and I had a good relationship for a while. I tried to take him under my wing, but he was into some bad stuff and I just wasn't going to be a part of it. The sister, well I really only saw her when she was a baby, and once or twice after that, so there really isn't a relationship. It's very hard to take that first step, but I'm glad I did. I wish you all well with your family situations and hope it's exactly what you want it to be.

Pakey, I'm also glad your trip got rescheduled so you'll have time to nurse DH back to health. Feel free to stop by frequently and we'll try to keep you sane during that time! :upsidedow

They are very beat up by the end and my DH,DB in Law and my mum eat them.

OK, the clean meat never fattened a pig should get you a tag. I don't know what it means but it sounds funny.

And eating the rolled eggs. No way. I imagine they are very beat up. Not sure you can sterilize the inside of a hard boiled egg.

Good luck. I wish I could find the self-restraint and reserves to be able to start on that journey myself.

Thanks, we'll see how it goes. I've put on a considerable amount of chunk in the past few months. I thought I had my weight stabilized, but it's gone back up again.

I only ever go in one direction -- UP! I need to go away to Biggest Loser camp -- although I couldn't afford to not get paid from work for that many months.

The last time I lost significant weight was my last year of undergraduate college, 4 years ago. Since then, I've gained about 40 lbs.

Pakey you are like the Tag Queen :worship:

Who knew? And I'm not even funny. Glad to see ya around again, missed you recently.

I started my diet today. :(
Good luck, care to share what you are doing? I'm always on a diet.

I have gained 8 lbs since getting the devil wafers (girl scout cookies). I too would love to go away, and get paid, to learn how to eat and exercise.

Thanks for the wishes!

Nothing specific, just keeping around 1600-1800 calories, and limiting sweets and alcohol. I'm trying to eat a smaller dinner and have my late night snacks be of the low cal type.

I have to ask Pakey, what is the frog tag about? It's curious :rotfl:

How was everyone's Easter? Ours was good, BEAUTIFUL egg hunting weather. We learned something new though. According to our 4 yo the eggs are not hidden by the Easter Bunny, oh nooo, we've been wrong all this time. They are hidden by the Easter Roo! You see, the Easter Kangaroo carries the eggs in his pouch and hops all over the house leaving the eggs. We apparently still have eggs on our roof we need to get a ladder and find. :lmao:

I so love that kid!!!!!

Thanks! I needed a good laugh this morning. My problem is poor eating habits and zero exercise. Good combo huh? And I wonder how this all got away from me. :confused3

Sharky that is so cute about the Roo!

We spent Saturday with DH's family; the two older nephews were home from college. Sunday we took a long walk through Central Park, it was a beautiful day.:upsidedow

I didn't call my two sisters, and I know at least one was a little put out with me. :guilty:

Ah, a true Disney fan at heart! Of course it's an Easter Roo silly mommy. What were you thinking? :confused3 ;)

I haven't been around much lately, did Paris Hairless enjoy her Easter? Did she wear an Easter bonnet and no panties?
