gDiapers, cloth diapers, disposables.....

Well, how much do you want to spend?
I mean, you could run to Target and buy some Bum Genius, and they really do generally get very good reviews & are one-size fits all because they adjust as baby grows, but they are expensive at $17.95 each. Of course you could just buy one and take it home to play with it and see how it works.

There might be a shop in your area that has a better selection of cloth diapers. There really are a lot of different kinds, so if you can hold them & look at them, it might help you to pick.

Oh, Target also has wetbags, too. I think they are about $12. Cute colors. You'd really want a wetbag as a place to keep the dirty dipes until washday. It zips closed and really contains odors very well. The wetbag can get washed right along with your dipes. The one at Target is on the smaller side, but it holds about 1.5- 2 days worth of dipes for us. I've been meaning to get a bigger one, and then I'll probably use that one I got from Target as a travel one to keep in our van.

Or you could go snoop around some WAHM websites: kellyscloset.com or abbyslane.com (I've ordered from both and have been pleased) or nurturedfamily.com or greenmountaindiapers.com
There are a lot of other sites as well.

A lot of people use Allen's Naturally detergent to wash their diapers and I think many sites that sell cloth diapers also sell that.

The only real downside for me, and ended up limiting some of my cd use was that as he got bigger, he didn't fit into older ds's old clothing (I didn't use cd's the first time around). So, it was either buy new clothes, or use disposables sometimes. So, I used disposables. They do make their booties bigger, and if this is your second (sorry, can't remember) that might bother you a bit.

Everything else, while a little more work, was very rewarding. I liked them, and he seemed to like them more. They do get a bit of a smell to them, so follow the directions.

It can be a little overwhelming. Just go one step at a time. I bought a bunch of pre-folds, different covers to try them out, and went from there. My favorites were the Fuzzi-Bunz with the prefolds inside. They were easiest to put on, and they looked so cute. They kids really look adorable in cloth diapers...I don't know what it is about them! Also, you will need a pail. I bought one at Target or Babies R Us...just a standard rectangular one...I think it was Costco brand. I used regular wipes. I brought plastic store bags to put dirty ones in when I went out, so if you have a few on hand, don't throw them out. You will need a good size diaper bag...they take up more space than a couple of disposables.

You can research what detergent to use, but I liked Sun. And I always threw some baking soda in as well. I never really got the hang of getting the smell totally out though...they didn't smell poopy or anything. Just had a smell...probably a mix of everything and the detergent combined. There are a lot of websites that have complete directions if you need them though.
