We are excited to be staying at GCV next month and as I just poked around the boards today after not having been here I am so excited to see we will just catch the new World of Color show the very night before we leave!!!

Can anybody recommend a view request for the villas at GC? I believe the choices are park view or pool view--we like quiet and to feel immersed in Disney--I am not sure which view if any would fit that bill. Anybody have any opinions on which is better?

Thanks!

We are going to try and get a park view. We like the sights and sounds of DLR at night. Have a great stay.

Does anyone know if the GCV accept faxed room requests? We booked with a DVC point rental, so I don't have direct control to call and have the request placed on our reservation. Thanks!

Talk to the seller and request them to do that for you. They took your money!!

We just stayed there a week ago. I had requested a pool view but got an upper Park view instead. The lights at night were nice but it was LOUD during the day - both from regular park noises and screams of delight AND due to the pretty extensive construction right under your window. On the weekdays the construction noise started no later than 7 a.m. I don't recall the exact time cause I was half asleep.

Personally I would not choose that view purposefully especially as long as there is contstruction. The regular park noise was a bit too much for me. Though with WoC it would be tempting - esp if there were some reason the observation deck would get too crowded. We did see WoC testing and it was nice but personally, I know I'll like Fantasmic better because of all the characters. Watching WoC from the balcony would be fun though - esp right when it opens and the crowds are a nightmare.

Now if it were Disneyland we were talking about then I'd request a park view in a heartbeat. The other issue I had was that it was a view of Paradise Pier which to me has never been very Disney-ish and just more like a regular carnival.

Thanks for the updates about the park view. I am going to try for a pool view. We have a little one with us and my older folks and I see park hours as late as 11pm. That won't fly for us! Hopefully we'll get a quieter room. The WoC would be tempting too but we will only be there one night when it is on (opening night) and we plan to be in the parks for it anyways!

Yes, have the person that you rented points from call and do this for you. It won't take them 5 minutes. :thumbsup2

Bethy, when they were testing WOC, could you hear it in your villa when you had the doors closed?
