GCV in August

We are looking forward to our third trip to GCV and DL. For a prior visit we rented a car and drove to Huntington Beach. My dh is not a fan of driving in unfamiliar places (usually he gets lost and/or frustrated easily). I don't remember that being a bad drive though. Are there any close places to visit without renting a car. Since we will be there a week and have 5 day park passes, I would love to see some sights. Not interested in any other theme parks though. Uber perhaps or any shuttles close to resort? TIA!
