GCH Upgrade to Concierge Difficulty

We have (excitedly) booked a trip to DL starting May 20th and are staying at the GCH. We have booked through a travel provider called WestJet Vacations (Canadian) and had limited ability to select room type. As such, we went with a standard room in the hopes that I would be able to upgrade to Concierge later.

That is turning out to be a difficult process - actually one Westjet or Disney won't let me do in advance. In addition, I was told by the hotel directly that you can't request Concierge level when checking in as it needs to be pre-booked. I am willing to pay the extra money!

Once option is to cancel through Westjet but our time has passed to do that with no fees.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with this or suggestions on what to do next?

WJV reserves a block of rooms. Whatever is available is what they have blocked. Did you ask your travel agent to book for you or did you do it yourself?

Thanks for the reply. I did it myself at westjet.ca - I have spoken to WJV a couple of times and they have said they don't typically offer those types of rooms. Lesson learned I guess! Have people been able to upgrade to Concierge at check-in?

Usually club is booked but it does not hurt to ask when you check in!
