I have a Valentine Dinner reservation for Fire and Ice and was wondering how far a walk it would be from the GCH, or should we take a cab. We don't mind walking but I am not walking miles and miles. Thanks :)

We have walked a couple of times from GCH to the Garden Walk. It is not too far at all, we went for lunch twice, once to PF Changs and once to Cheesecake Factory and I really enjoyed the walk.

After going to DL from a child, it sounds ridiculous but we had never been out that way before having never stayed of site. So we loved walking and seeing around outside DLR. We had a child with us too and he wasn't bothered by the walk at all. It would only have been about 15 minutes or so. I would walk again without hesitation.

We went out of the hotel into DTD, went through the bag check and out onto S.Harbour, crossed the street, up Disney Way and we were there, not long at all. Coming back we always seem to go down W.Katella, cross at S.Harbour and walk back past Candy Cane Inn to DTD. It really isn't too far to walk.

Here's the way we walk http://g.co/maps/2k8yb

We usually walk to Garden Walk several times during our trips. Sometimes we walk from one of the hotels on Harbor (across from the DL entrance), and sometimes we walk there directly from the parks. Personally, I would not consider taking a cab unless time was an issue, but that's just me!

I was assuming it might be cold after dinner? If the weather is nice I'd walk, but a cab could be more comfortable.

Check with Bell Services or Guest Services at the hotel for a "Flat Rate Cab Voucher".

It looks like an easy walk. You might want to walk there and get a cab to return when you're done. You could also call them now and see if they can tell you the cost. Or give you the cab company's number to call to check on prices.

We took a cab to Medieval times, about 7 miles from the GCH, flat rate was $20each way. To SNA for our flight home the cab was $35.

We use to get a rental car. Now that I know about the shuttles and cabs, we have been using them for our last couple of trips. But once we get to DisneyResorts we tend to not leave the property. This last time was an exception, my grandson wanted to see the Medival times show.

Enjoy your trip!

Very easy to walk. Just kinda depends on how much walking you did that day. If you are too tired to walk get it and if not it's not a bad walk at all.

We always stay at the Anaheim Plaza hotel which backs up to the Garden Walk. It's not that bad. Walk through the esplade out to Harbor. Its not bad at all

We've walked their from the paradise pier hotel. It's definitely a walk but i don't think it's an outrageous one. Heading back always seems to take longer tho.. lol

It's not a bad walk at all really, but if you're going to be dressy or wearing heels you may want to consider a cab. I'd go through DTD, cross the Esplanade and walk from there. It's really not terrible, we've done it but I was wearing comfy shoes and not cute shoes. lol
