I just saw a thread with someone asking about GCH scavenger hunt where you win a key to the conceirge level. How do you get in on this. We will be staying there next month and would love to do that. Also, how do you get signed up to do a gch tour and does it cost?

You'll get a paper each night during turn down service that lists all the activities for the following the day. I believe the scavenger hunt begins at 3 or 4. We've done it a few times and it doesn't seem to change. I believe the first family that turns in the paper with the answer wins concierge for the night. Every other child that participates wins a special treat, a cookie from WWS.

Regarding the GCH tour, refer to the paper I was talking about. It should give you a phone number to call if you need to sign up or it'll tell you to just show up at a certain time or a certain place.

Enjoy your stay at GCH. We love that hotel.

Thanks so much. This is our first time at the Grand Californian-actually my kids and husbands first time to Disneyland. I am soooo.... excited. We are also planning on having snacks-cookies, choc. covered strawberries, etc.-sent up to the room each night. Does anyone have a favorite or anything else we should know about. I can't wait. Thanks!:yay:

I'm assuming you've already contacted vacatation planning for the snacks. Since it'll be the first time for the rest of your family, request 1st time buttons, balloons, and autographed photos for them. We did the snack thing too when we stayed at GCH. My kids didn't mind leaving the parks at night to go back to the hotel since they couldn't wait to see what Mickey and his friends left for them.

mmmm... chocoalte covered strawberries. Who would have thought my kids wouldn't like them? All the more for mom though.

If you plan on doing Build a Bear, there's also an early entry for GCH guests. Book as soon as possible when you check in, it does fill up during the busy season. There's a $10 minimum purchase per person but you also get a bonus. When we went, the bonus was a BAB sling backpack.
