GCH rates higher Feb. vs. Jan.?

I am in the process of rescheduling our trip from mid-November to either January or February. Does anyone know, or want to give a guess, why the GCH rates are up to $150 a night more in February than they are in January? I'm checking the same day range - Thursday to Tuesday - and can't figure out why there is such a difference. I'm wondering if there is something about February that I am unaware of that may affect crowds, etc...

On the west coat most schools have the entire week of Presidents Day off of school - we call it Ski Week! That could be one reason...

February has the very busy President's day week. The schools here get the whole week off. Disneyland also is a popular date spot for valentine's day. If it isn't around those times, I would just keep checking the prices as they do change.

Thank you - I hadn't thought of President's day, and the days surrounding it. Valentine's Day was floating around in my head, but not the other holiday. That makes sense.

If we went 2/3 - 2/8, that would be optimal for our schedule, but I'm just having trouble knowing that one week earlier, 1/27 - 2/1, is quite a bit cheaper. Ugh...silly "problems," I know. If I do book the February dates, I'd just have to hope for a discount to come out, I guess.
