We are looking to hopefully use our DVC points to stay 3 nights (w,th, f) in early Oct.

We are newbies to the DVC and I was wondering what our chances are in getting this (just the studio).

If you are not trying for the first weekend in October, your chances will be better. Both Gay Days and the Columbus Day holiday will add to the crowds that first weekend. You are also more likely to be successful if you are willing to book a 1 BR. Studios are the most popular. As you probably already know, Friday will be the hardest day to book. -- Suzanne

Thanks We are hoping to go Sept 29-Oct 6th but the first part of the vacation will be from our prize. I guess if it comes to it we can pay out of pocket for the room and rent our points - right - lol?

I booked 9/21-9/28 today, studio. I think a midweek arrival may hurt, can you use your prize the second half?

no- my prize stay has to be include a sat night.

If we can use it then we will, but if not we'll rent the points if we can and just pay for a regular room or see if we can get a one bedroom

Last year, we snagged a 1BR- October 4-8 at the 7 month mark.
I was told it was the last one available whenI booked.

Based on what I've seen myself checking on the member website to self book you will need to call at the 7 month mark of you have any chance of getting what you want. I did random searches last week for any time frame March through the end of the year and studios were mostly booked up solid within the 7 month window. I own at GCV so I am able to look 11 months out. Couldn't get consecutive days in a studio until September and most days weren't available at all prior to that. Doesn't look like a trip to DL is in the cards for me this year based on what I found. I do F & W at WDW in the Fall and am hoping to do the D23 Christmas thing at WDW in December so DL will have to wait until next year.

A friend just booked Tues-Fri 9/25 to 9/28 this morning, studio. She must have got the last one because Tues is now soldout.

As of now, there is availability, but that could all change in an hour. Sending some pixie dust your way.

It looks like people are booking it up immediately at the 7 month window because now there is no availability on the 26th. I'll have to take a peek in the morning to see if the 27th books up right away.
