GCH Layout - Elevators, Entrances

I've read the entire Superthread. Very informative but I would just like to confirm the following:

Elevators: I looked at the maps and it looks like there are only three elevators. Really? One on the east side of the hotel near the 329/331 rooms, one in the middle/Great Hall, and one on the SW inside corner near one of the pools.

Rooms near entrance/exits: It looks like if we want a room close to an entrance or exit, we would need to request the following --

Room near entrance to DCA: Looks like we would want to request something as close as possible to the east elevator (over Napa Rose?), around 324-334.

Room near stairway exit to DTD (no entry): Near 447s/449s.

Room nearest to DL/main entry plaza: 000/024s, near elevators at Great Hall. (Note: This is the DTD entry/exit?)

Rooms nearest pool cabanas: It looks like all 3 entrances are about the same distance since the pool is in the middle, but I'm guessing one has to be better than the other two as far as getting to/from cabanas? And would rooms in a particular location have views of the cabana area?

I can only think of 3 elevators. DCA has a well earned reputation for being really close to DCA but with super duper long hallways that can add substantially to the time it takes to get someplace.

I like the rooms in the east wing "over Napa Rose". The advantage is that going back and forth the DCA is very quick. Depending on how long you wait for an elevator, possibly only three minutes.

Going to DL is very quick if you walk east and use the stairs to go down where it pops out right by La Brea Bakery near the security checkpoint.

The only time it becomes inconvenient is when you are returning from DL in which case you need walk down to the DTD entrance to DCA and go up the elevators. But that is true for almost all the GCH rooms when returning from DL.

Note I paid extra for a park view room and requested 5th floor east wing.

As for distance to the pools, I guess it depends on which pool. The main, largest pool is closest to the east wing rooms. I actually have no idea where the cabanas are located so cannot help you there. I do not know anything about room views of the pool and cabana area either.

There are 3 groups of elevators: 4 off the main lobby, 3 near Napa Rose, 3 near VGC.
GCH is only 6 floors, so there is seldom any wait for elevators.

The elevators near VGC might be more convenient for pool and cabana access, since there are very few guests walking in that area.
