GCH Fountain pool with redwood slide closed till March 20?

Can anyone confirm this? Will be there February 16 - 21 and kids will sure be disappointed if the weather co-operates and gives us a pool day.

Someone else mentioned this.

But there are something like three pools in the GCH pool area. And this affects just one or two of them.

The slide might be a problem, but swimming can still happen from what I understand.

And it probably wouldn't hurt to ask if you could get permission to use the DLH pool...

someone did mention this last week or the week before and my quesstion as was this the only pool...it is not the only pool but it is the main pool...it's also our first time going and it's "the low season" so I guess this is just the negative side of going in the non-popular time

As of today, Jan 28 they were jackhammering out the pools, looks like they will be replastered.

We were there last week and two pools were closed. The pool and spa near the DVC wing were open and we were also given access to the DLH pool with slide.

I called them last week and during that time, the only pool open will be the one by DVC! They said you can go to one of the other hotel pools, but since it was cheaper anyways, I actually changed my reservations to the DLH! Might as well save money and get pooltime if wanted !!!

I have no idea about a re-opening date as we don't typically swim at hotels, but we just got back from the GCH about 30 minutes ago, and the pool was empty and closed with work being done on it the whole time. I can't imagine that it will be open again any time soon.

Can't get a more up-to-the-minute report than that...thanks!! I was hoping it would be progressing nicely and done by the time we arrive on the 27th...oh well, it is what it is!! That's what the off season is for.

I thought I read the pool would re-open Feb 21. We are arriving on the 20th so I figured that would be fine. I just spoke with a CM at the GCH and she said that the pool with the slide will not re-open until March 1. I would change at this point so we don't have to go pool hopping at other resorts, but we are staying at this one for the bunk bed factor.

I am not sure when it will reopen, but what I can tell you is even though it is not the best pool weather...the one tiny pool that is open is CROWDED...my daughter loves to swim...winter, summer, spring or fall...but the pool is a tight squeeze right now

Well the latest update is that the pools that are currently closed are scheduled to open March 18. Too late for us...oh well, you get what you pay for! Right now the rates are low, so this is what you give up!

We just arrived home today and the pool and slide are definitely still closed. The people enjoying the small pool had to listen to the construction noise.
