Can this entrance be used during extra magic hours and is there any advantage to using it? Maybe being the first group to Sorin?

Yes this entrance is open during extra magic hours... If you are trying to get in right at the start I would say avoid this entrance because their are only two turnstiles and the line can get long. The front entrance will usually be much quicker and from the front you are closer to Radiator Springs Racers Fast Pass and Cars Land!
