Hi everyone,
First time I've posted on the DL board, so HELLO! Heading to Calif to see family in Feb. Taking little break with my son (then 14) at DL. Just booked using DVC points GCH concierge. Not sure if I should book DLH instead. We'll be there two nights, probably doing the parks for a day and a half (some family live in Newport Beach so we'll be visiting them from DL). Any thoughts??
Thanks
Cora

You made the right choice. I would stay at the CGH any chance I was given. We've stayed there twice and now feel so spoiled by it, it's really hard to stay anywhere else. The CGH is newer, bigger, better and closer to Disneyland. Have fun!

I don't know about either of those places, but IF I were faced with such a decision, I would calculate if the difference in points between the hotels could get me another night at the lesser-point hotel.

I tread a fine line between quality and quantity. :)

I agree with PP. I would also suggest calculating your points if you booked a non-concierge level room. Many people really like staying at the concierge level but for us (we stayed concierge at the GCH in March) it was not anything better than staying without access to the lounge since we usually bring a case of our own water and snacks. The food is nice to parouse but it's really a big carb fest and left us not feeling great after indulging...just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll stay with what we've booked. Regarding the points, we're actually in a great position for the next 18 months. We have 3 vacations planned for 08 and won't be using our points.
We have 102 points from this use year and 300 coming in 08 so I have to use them, because we will never use 700 points in 09 (if I banked everything). Unfortunately, our son is now approaching high school so the vacations will be limited to one per year and I imagine many of those will be college visits.
