We are booked for a DTD view room at the GCH Nov 29-Dec 3. We have requested a room with the bunk beds. I know that it is not certain that we will get this particular room, but I am really hoping it works out. Have there been many people here that have requested these rooms and not gotten them? Is there a better time to check in to help secure one of these rooms?

I am a little nervous about our decision to stay here. We are using DVC points and stayed at the DLH last trip and loved it. We really like being immersed in the Disney theme. Will we still feel the Disney magic there? we wanted to try a different hotel this trip. Looking at the pictures it reminds me a lot of AKL at WDW, which is our home resort. Thanks so much!

My wife and I stayed at the GCH last October for our honeymoon and trust me you won't be disappointed. We even had a DTD view as well, its really special to sit on the balcony and listen to the street musicians at night. Plus it is so close to both parks, its really worth it. And the storytellers cafe is great! Here is our TR if you want to read more on it. I highly recommend it.

Great trip report! I think we will really enjoy the CGH. I guess I am just a little nervous to try something new, when we loved the DLH. Was Storyeller's better than the Plaza (I'm guessing it was Minnie and Friends)? We ate at the Blue Bayou (awesome!) and Goofy's Kitchen last time. Thought we might try something different this trip.

Napa Rose is even better than Storytellers. You will love the Grand. Make sure to spend some time in front of the fireplace in the Grand room. The best thing about the Grand IMHO is having your own park entrance. It can't be beat!

with DVC points it can go both ways. I have had the request full filled most of the time but i also try to travel off season. the one time we did not travel off season we did not get our request. but either way you will enjoy it.

Thanks! For all the info. I am getting pretty excited (it's even out weighing our move to the Grand Canyon in 3 weeks). I think we are technically staying during the off season, the week after Thanskgiving. We went at the same time in 2007 and the parks were nice and quite. No long waits for anything and great character interaction (much better than WDW:rolleyes1).
