Aloha,
Long time DLH regular, first time GCH visitor. Party of four...me, wife and a pair of high school teenagers. Would greatly appreciate advice on requested room location for a premium view room at GCH. Which is better, the DTD view or the TP (DCA) view? Which rooms should I request for easy access to either DTD or DCA? Want to avoid any marathon walks within GCH or to/ from DL and DCA. Which rooms to best avoid any construction noise from the new hotel? Thank-you in advance for your wisdom and experience. Mahalo.

The DTD view is pretty great, plus you get a fireworks view. It is kind of a long trek, but that seems to be the case for most rooms. I would request close to elevators for the least walking.

I request: "room near elevators adjacent to Napa Rose"
This is near the GCH entrance to DCA.

DTD view rooms can have a view of fireworks, but can be noisy and will have a longer walk.

You might want to request this bed configuration: "1 King Bed and 1 Day Bed and 1 Twin-Size Sleeper Chair"
Each teenager gets their own bed :teacher:

Pretty sure the days beds are a thing of the past with the renovated rooms at the GCH. However they now have about 300 rooms that have a convertible sofa couch that flips down to an actual twin size bed.

Two queens with convertible sofa is what they would want. One way to help ensure that configuration is book the room with 5 adults on the reservation.

I know you were told "convertible sofa" was the official description, but "day bed" now appears on the GCH booking site -- in any case, both refer to the same thing.

I always request a room near Napa rose elevators...quick access to the park and I usually end up with a partial park view

Huh...didn’t know the sleeper chair was a thing in King rooms hence my confusion with your post knowing you are a fellow GCH regular. Are those post remodel or have they always had them?

That looks pretty great. For having to share a room...

Sleeper Chairs are new to GCH, but have been available at DLH.
All rooms with a King bed will have a Sleeper Chair, and will also have either a Daybed or a non-foldout sofa.

We just stayed four people in a king room and used daybed and chair couch --they worked great.

Personally, I don't generally pay for a view. I have paid for theme park view in the past (we have stayed 25 plus times over the years) and the view of Grizzly Rapids area was fun but now the trees have grown in and you can't see as much. The Paradise Pier view is cool but it is the DCA wing (you can still request it).

I don't think any other view is worth the charge. Sometimes you end up with a view room anyway. I have been able to view partial fireworks from multiple rooms (several were standard view).

The closest rooms to the entrance is the Napa Rose wing near the elevator.
