I love the GCH. It does have similarities to the WL. It has the big lobby and a huge fireplace area with lots of nice places to sit and relax. When we're in the lobby, we dont feel like we're in a big city anymore -- it's amazing.
I like how close GCH it is to DL and how you get a back door right into DCA (right by the "wet" river rapids ride, too, which is great for changing clothes quickly). You can't beat the location. Also it is one building, the DLH is 3 buildings, not attached. It's the only hotel that Disney actually built; the other 2 were bought from other companies.
The GCH theme park view is really great, especially at night when all the rides are lit up. You are so close to DCA so you can really see alot. And the pools are a great place for an afternoon break.
We've stayed in Concierge, Theme Park View, and Standard view rooms. There are bunkbed rooms there by request. Like some WDW hotels, there are LONG hallways -- we've always asked to be near the main elevators and have always gotten our requests.
I haven't stayed at DLH Concierge, though, so I cant comment on that. There is a nice Peter Pan/Capt. Hook pool area there. It is a longer walk to DL and you have to use the front entrance for DCA.
Both hotels are equally close to the monorail and the Downtown Disney shops and restaurants.
