GC or PP? Worth it?

For the package I am looking at, the GC is almost $700 more than PP for 6 nights. Is it worth it?

Definitely! But I might be a bit biased! I've stayed at PP only once and wasn't impresssed with anything about the hotel and now that Disney has closed the private entry for PP guests, it seems so much further from everything now.

The GCH is a beautiful hotel and is right in the middle of everything. The pools are nice and they have a great snack shop (Whitewater) that is reasonably priced.

While I have not stayed at the GC, I wasn't all that impressed with PP either. It is still nice to be onsite and the rooms are nice but for me I love the Disneyland Hotel. That is usually a happy medium price wise and way better than PP IMHO. If you can afford it I would go with the Grand Californian like I hope to do some day!

It completely depends on your financial situation. IMO, if you're going to spend all the money to stay on property, you might as well go all the way and stay at the GC. I've stayed at both and there's good and bad points to both, but it's really up to you.

I stayed at PP way back when it was the Pan Pacific, and in those days nicer than the Disneyland Hotel.

Since then, it's gotten a little more faded, has little Disney theming, and is just a hotel.

Having said that, a room overlooking DCA is great - I was looking right into the rides from one room, and enjoyed just people watching. The access to the 'back side' of DCA is good too.

Haven't stayed at the GC, but will definitely only recommend PP if it's a great deal (like the $69 AP rate they did a few years ago)

We didn't care for PP. Just walking around GC I loved it. It had a lot more atmosphere than PP. We also ate at both and GC was much better.
