GC check out question

Once we check out of the GC , at 11:00 am, will we still have access to the hotel, pool, and entrances ?

We are checking out, and going to the parks that day, but thought we could go back and use the pool in the afternoon if the kids were tired ( without a room). I don 't want to break any rules, just thought I would ask.

We are checking in to HOJO that night, so we could just check in to Hojo earlier in the afternoon and go there for a break.
GC would be so much easier.....

Your key cards stop working upon check out. HoJo will let you access their pool area prior to your room being ready tho.

ETA that yes, you will still have access to the GCH itself, as do all park visitors, anyone can access the hotel itself, as for the entrances, you will have your key cards so yes, you should still be able to use the GCH DCA entrance with no problems.

When we stayed at the GCH in July, we were given a key card (the old room key/luggage tag) to use for the pool after checkout. We had no problems going to the pool that day and there is a shower in the restroom so we could rinse off the chlorine before changing to go home.

There is a card reader at the entrance to the pool.. It works the same as the one to enter your room

Yes, DL has had gated pools for years. Think about how close the hotels are to the park/DTD (easy walk) and how tempting it might be for someone to cool off for a while at the pool.

This is great since I like to swim before the long drive(I am the only one) and we do have to check out early to make Redding in a timely manner.

Last time we stayed at VGC the front desk told us our key cards would be good until midnight. We don't go to the pool on check out day (we really need to take better advantage of the pool in general), but we stay in the park and leave the car in the parking lot until the park closes, and our key card worked in the parking lot just fine! (Also worked on the WOC viewing deck that night.)

My experience with this was we had just checked out of the villas and were waiting to get into a standard room. Daughter realized that she left her dvd in the TV, I promply went back and could not get in. Went back to the desk and they sent HK to get the DVD. It was later delivered to the new room with autographed pictures of minnie, mickey, goofy and donald.
