Thinking about seeing this on New Year's day. We bought a groupon to GWL for the 2nd, so we'd have to come up a day early to see this (we'd probably priceline a hotel). Tickets are $27 for adults and $15 for kids, though. Is it really worth it??!! That seems like a lot of $$ to me. How long do you spend looking at it? Are there any coupon codes out there this year (I googled it, and was only able to find one from last year). TIA for any input! --Katie

We went last year. It was fun, but I did not think it was worth the money to be honest. We were in and out in about 40 minutes. When we went it was very crowded too, so it was kind of cattle drive movement and you couldn't get an unobstructed view of things.

I wanted to add that we stayed at the Gaylord when we went. Now that was worth the money. The hotel, the balcony overlooking the light and music show every night, the little village of shops and places to eat...that is what my girls talk about and wish we could do again. ICE they could have lived without.

My brother and his family went last year and they found it pricey too but really enjoyed it. They say that they're glad they went but wouldn't go very often because of the cost.

I always shy away from it due to the cost. I would like to see it one time though.

Hi, my family and I have gone the previous two years in addition to this year. I have to say that it is slightly pricey, however I must say that this year the Shrek theme, really made it worth it for this year. The previous years were good don't get me wrong. I just really enjoyed it this year. We spent about 40 -45 minutes. It was not crowded because we went about 2 weeks ago. If I am not mistaken there are codes somewhere, if I find them I will let you know.

Only if you love Shrek.

S's Mom: Is every room Shrek theme? Or is there anything else worth seeing?

I've gone twice to the one in Orlando, it really is worth it for a first timer. Of course, there's usually a few more codes out for Gaylord Palms in Florida than the other sites. I spent a good 45 minutes just going down the slides. You may exit to a waiting area if you get a little too cold. Which I did a few times just to spend a little more time in the ICE area. They also had like a hidden mickey hunt throughout the atrium, with a little reward at the end. The Florida one was a bit more whimsical christmas theme rather than a paid theme like Snoopy or Shrek.

My aunt really wanted to see the Texan this year, but Shrek is on the x-nay list. Although Snoopy from last year would've been a cute one to see.

I think we're gonna skip it. I just can't justify spending that much $$ for 45 minutes. Maybe we'll go next year and actually stay at the Gaylord Texan. --Katie
