DH has a meeting in June at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Conference center.... any news on this one? I had not heard of it before.....

Thanks! The convention gave us the website too but sounded like mostly advertiser info... Do you (or anyone else) know when they opened? We will be bringing the DS's too so I also need to know how the kids programs are... any thoughts?

this spring I think.

have a heard this hotel is exactly what it says it is.

most of the reviews I have read - are from business people who did not have the children with them - so sorry I can't help with that.

Hubby and I stayed at the Gaylord Palms in 2002. We really liked it. We did not have the children with us. I would suggest you call them direct as when we stayed they had just openend and they were very helpful on the phone with info. Good Luck! Check to see if there are any specials. When we stayed we paid a little extra (I thnk it was 25.oo) and we got free round of golf, free breakfast buffet, free dinner one night and free Disney park passes for 2 days with free transportation). It was a GREAT deal. I dont know if this is something they do all the time or if it was because they had just opened.

Thanks D and L's mom... I will definately try calling for specials... the convention will not send info until Feb so I have to wait for most things :( but of course, I really wanted to get started now b/c I can't wait to go!!!

Any suggestions on where to request rooms? Sounds like they have many areas... Would one be more convenient than another for getting to and from WDW? I am thinking we will rent a car but if the transportation is good....?

Thanks again

We stayed there in May 2002 with our 3 kids who were 2, 5 and 6mos at the time. I LOVED it. There is so much to see right inside the hotel. There's a Canyon Ranch spa, a nice pool (well 2 but one is for adults only) great restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed our stay there and look forward to a return trip. It really is not that spread out, so any section is just as close. We stayed in the emerald bay section which was perfect. The balcony overlooks the atrium (very cool)

I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Its very close to wdw, but we did have a car so I can't comment on the buses. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Thanks so much momtomootoo!! I really appreciate the input. The boys will be 8 and 9 and this will be trip number 2 for them and they are really looking forward to it!! Any suggestions on what to do during my hubbys meetings? My sister will be along for the trip too so we will do parks but will try to wait for him and all go... Is the hotel near anything in particular? Is there a grocery store anywhere nearby? Thanks all for any help you can give!! :wave2:
