Has anyone stayed at the Gaylord Palms Resort? We'll be staying there this summer. Any special are to request? Is there a fee for parking, or any resort fee?

Thanks!

I actually won this hotel through priceline for friends. The resort fee is $10/ day but includes 2 bottles of water and 2 orange juices in the morning. They loved this hotel. They said staff was excellent as well as the property.

We stayed there back when it first opened and loved it. Definately get an emerald bay room. It has a balcony that looks out into the hotel atrium. really cool. There was a resort fee and free self parking. All the restaurants are good and the pool area is fine. The canyon ranch spa was great as was the
Ben and Jerry's.

Thanks for the replies. We got the place on priceline, and now I see Disney Resort AP rates are out. Guess I should have waited a day.

Anyways, did you feel that you were too far away from WDW? Or, did it still seem like you were there?

Thanks!

We have never stayed there but hoping to make a visit this trip. Bob Jackson who plays the piano at POR plays there on certain nights a well. Be sure not to miss him.

I got Gaylord Palms via Priceline as well and was lucky enough to be assigned an atrium rooms. Half the rooms look out over the parking lots and Kissimee these rooms are called Floirida view and don't have balconies. The other half lookinto the large atriums which are fun views and most of these have balconies. There is a lot to look at here and the main pool was great looking with a giant octopus with water squirting out of it's tentacles. There are gardens and caves and swamps, restaurants and ships inside the atriums.

We also just got this hotel from Priceline. Does anyone know if they put priceline guests in specific areas. My guess is that most would not have the atrium view. Maybe luck of the draw. ANyone know or sure? Is there a "best" area to request. We would like to be close to the pool, so I was looking at the "Key West" area,

Thanks,

Pam

California,

I'll be there in May for a convention, before our on-site adventure, work before pleasure. I'll scope it out and catch up with you then.

Thank you! ;) We'll be staying at the BoardWalk Villas for the second part of our trip, so we're also doing an off & on-site combo. :)

: A resort fee of $10.00 per night includes newspaper, bottled water/juice in room, high speed internet access, complimentary transportation to Disney theme parks, unlimited use of fitness room, and free range balls at Falcon's Fire Golf Club.

Can anyone help me with getting a room there thru Priceline?

How do you get Gaylord Palms?

Thanks bunches :)

Cali--I think all the rooms have high speed ethernet for your laptop. I'm not sure if the TV's have the new system with the keyboards but even if they do you really can't do much with TV resolution.

wdisneelvr--You can't guarantee getting Gaylord Palms. Look at biddingfortravel.com for some ideas. Other resorts in the Disney zone include S/D, Mariott, Hilton and Wyndham.

As far as getting Gaylord Palms, you'd need to bid in the Walt Disney Area, in the Resort Star level. It seems like most people are getting it for $85/night, which is what I was able to get it for. :)

Two more questions: for those of you who have had the atrium view, was it really noisy? Also, are there any first floor rooms?

Thanks. ;)
