I've got a convention next February at the Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee. I'm planning a large trip for about 26 people in June of that year (staying at 2 houses in Windsor Hills). My wife and I are debating taking our kids with us to the conventions since we'll be headed back for the big trip only a few months later. Has anyone ever stayed at this resort? It looks amazing on the web and like alot of fun.

Haven't stayed there due to cost, but we attended a convention there in January and stayed at WH--very convenient drive (maybe 5-10 minutes). The resort is beautiful. The atrium view rooms have to be just incredible since I could just sit in the atrium and relax for hours it was so pretty. The resort pools also look very nice. If it was affordable I would say go for it.

Won a Priceline bid here once and they upgraded us into a St. Augustine suite, probably the nicest hotel room I will ever have. There is a family pool shaped like an octopus and tons to do inside. They have alligators and even snakes (in cages) plus the Spanish fort. I'd say go for it, and perhaps bid on Priceline after checking www.biddingfortravel.com but there's no guarantee you would get the Gaylord.

Well, my convention is there and the company is paying for the room so that's not to worry. haha. As I'm typing this, there's an ad at the top of the screen for Gaylord Palms. I'm really excited. We have 2 meetings a year with a group I work with and the meeting in February was between Orlando, Charleston, SC, and Las Vegas. My wife's from Charleston and although I've never been to Vegas, I nearly fell out of my chair when it came time to vote for Orlando. What a plus that the resort is really nice. All I have to do is buy tickets to the parks now!
