Im not exactly sure if its called the ice exhibit, but I have heard that there is an ice exhibit at the gaylord palms around Christmas time. I was wondering if there was anyone that has any information about it. How much did it cost? Didi you think it was worth going there? and if I didnt have a car and was staying on Disney property is it safe to walk there or is it located in a place where I would have to take a cab. Any information would be great!
thanks

We did ICE last year at the Gaylord in Florida and this past Christmas at the Gaylord in the DC area. It is about $20 a person with on-line pre order discounts. I think it was worth it and more enjoyable to do in FL than in DC. Mainly because the FL one was much longer and more worth the money.

You cannot walk from WDW. You will need a car or taxi.

When we went we also stayed for the free shows in the atrium and free hot chocolate. Very worth the trip.

Dh and I went in Dec 2009, we walked thru the whole exhibit, including stopping for pictures and to really "look" at the larger sculptures and we were in and out in about 30 minutes. We had a discount code, I don't remember what we paid per ticket but keep in mind parking at Gaylord is another $12. It is pretty expensive for such a short attraction, but very neat to see.

I have not seen the one in Orlando, but we did the one in Nashville last year. How long does it take? Well, it really takes as long as you want it to. If you walk through and take a lot of pictures, it can take about 30-45 minutes. If they have the ice slide there like the one in Nashville does, add about 30 more minutes to that. You will probably have to wait, and if you're anything like us, you'll want to do it more than once! The theme for the Nashville one was Charlie Brown Christmas, which our family adores, so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I think it's totally worth the money!

We also did ICE! in DC last year and it was pretty neat. You get a timed ticket when you purchase them and I'm pretty sure the Orlando one works the same way. I'd say the same - it took us about 30 minutes to walk through, and afterwards there were a lot of activities going on in the resort itself - choirs and things. You probably want to look at a schedule online to figure out how much you want to do and time it out accordingly.

$20 tickets if not staying at The Gaylord. The line to wait can be as long as 1.5 hrs. For me, uhhhhhh, I wouldn't go for free. I think it took us maybe 30 minutes at most and that was with my kids doing the slide.

On a side note, I just got back and stayed at the Gaylord for the first night. I was not able to get 3 nights on points at BWV so I figured for $89 a night I would stay there the first night. Add valet and tax it came out to $145.

I could have stayed in a studio at OKW for $179 that night. It is too far away for me and just a hassle.

We did this in Orlando last year. The sculptures were really pretty, and I am not sorry we saw it once, but I didn't really feel it was worth the $20 per person + $12 for parking.

We were there during the week, and it wasn't too busy. We each did the slides twice and took our time walking around, but it still only took 30 - 40 minutes including getting our parkas.

Make sure you have gloves/scarfs/hats as it is really cold in there. We were thoroughly chilled and glad to get the hot chocolate.
