A friend of my wife has recommended this hotel for a meal. I have seen it off the I-4 but don't know which exit to take. Anyone know? Apparently its a themed restaurant well worth a visit.:thumbsup2

there are a few restaurants in Gaylord Palms, (if its the same one that you have been recommended) it is situated off the 192 and near the Osceola parkway. Parking is $10 there.
Sorry can't help with the directions from the I4

The Gaylord Palms hotel is indeed along Osceola Parkway less than 1 mile east of I-4. You'll want to use Exit# 65 on I-4. Osceola Parkway becomes a toll road after the hotel so don't miss the hotel entrance! The inside atrium is an incredible piece of work and is a tourist destination in itself. Not sure what restaurant intrigues you; there is a very expensive steak house and a more moderate Key West-themed restaurant.

I wouldn't worry too much about missing the hotel entrance. As you exit the I-4 onto the Osceola Parkway, you can't miss the hotel and the entrance will be on your right-hand side, so just stay in the inside lane. Even if you should miss the entrance off the Osceola Parkway, you just need to hang a right at the lights onto South International Drive and use the main entrance.

We've eaten at all three restaurants. Old Hickory Steakhouse is one of our favourite restaurants in the area, but it is quite pricey. It's set in the Everglades section of the hotel and is styled as a swamp hut on stilts complete with alligator-infested waters! Inside it's divided into intimate nooks and crannies. It's rustic, yet very atmospheric. If you want to eat there, I'd suggest making a reservation in advance as this is a convention hotel and, even when the rest of Orlando appears relatively quiet, it can be difficult to get a table as a walk up.

Sunset Sam's Fish Camp is at the opposite end of the hotel in the Key West area. Part of the restaurant is set aboard a yacht on the marina (all under the glass atrium). Unsurprisingly, this is a fish restaurant. We've only eaten there once and, whilst we enjoyed it, the fact that we've never been back probably suggests that we weren't blown away.

Villa de Flora is a buffet restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's in the St Augustine area in the middle of the hotel. I'm not a huge fan of buffets, but this one does it well and, again, the theming is excellent. We've had lunch there a couple of times.

UKDEB said: .........so just stay in the inside lane.

Actually, since we drive on the right side of the road here and the hotel is to the right, the far right lane would be considered the outside lane.

In the UK:

Inside (or nearside) lane = slow lane.
Outside (or farside) lane = fast lane.

I assumed this applied in the US too, but I've just found this on Answers.com:

In the United States, the inside lane refers to the fastest lane, but in the United Kingdom, it refers to the slowest lane.

Well I believe that everywhere the "inside" lane refers to the lane nearest the median (inside of the road) where the "outside" lane is the one along the outside edge of the road.

But whatever....we all agree that the Gaylord Palms is so huge, it can't possibly be missed! :)
