Gay Parents

Certain Monorails are easier to "pilot". The trip from TTC to EPCOT is my favorite! The longest ride, and the best sights sailing through the park! You may have to wait for a second train, but ask, you will get on!

Woo Hoo!

Group planning session! :cool1: I love planning for people with kids!

Are ya gonna want a night out for yourselves?

Hey, I kept racking my brain last night for that word..."pilot." :lmao:

Actually, I have found DCL to be even more accepting than WDW, if that is at all possible!

sorry - i should have specified that i was not referring to the DCL in my statement. we cruised w/ my parents on many lines without issue but did have a fairly major one on HA, what had been their preferred cruise line. to say none of us will use them again would be a gross understatement. it was my first real exposure to true discrimination and i still can't get past the shock and disgust i felt at that moment.

Hey, you guys will have a blast!! I'm sure I can reiterate and say that my partner and I haven't ever had a problem, so I'm sure that the 3 of you will have nothing but fun, too! :goodvibes
As far as Tusker House for character dining, I went once and actually lean towards Chef Mickey's a lot more. It was fun one time, but I'd rather Chef Mickeys, especially for kids! Just my oppinion, though!

Have a great time! :woohoo:

Hi,

we went in Jan/08, and had no issues. even on the 5th day when our then 2.5 year old had the meltdown of all meltdowns...

Our advice? take it slow, take breaks, and when they are seeming tired or overwhelmed, listen to them and take a break. if you keep pushing them, it will blow up in your face!

have fun!!!

When traveling with a 3 year old, I usually treat the theme parks as "side dishes" and limit the time there. I would get to the parks early, spend a few hours there and ride on the "must see" attractions, leave and head back to the resort and have lunch, go swimming, or take a nap (are you staying on Disney property?) then head back to one of the parks in the evening for fireworks or a parade, or not, depending on the child.

Whatever you do, have fun, and get to the parks EARLY!!!

yes, get there early!!! what worked for us was to get there EARLY and leave early. that way we were able to keep normal bedtimes and had a happier child because of it!

Thanks for the great advice! We do plan to go early and take afternoon breaks. Especially being there in JULY!! I know we want to see Spectromagic, Illuminations and Wishes, so we will have at least 2 evenings in the parks.

We decided to stay the whole week just so we could go at his pace. It is our hope to return in a few years and do a WDCruise and theme park package, so we know we are coming back. That helps a lot with flexibility.

Excellent. Taking a kid that age is more about enjoying watching the experience through his eyes. Take lots of photos and enjoy every bit of pixie dust! :wizard:

Speaking of taking lots of photos... get a PhotoPass at the first chance you get, and every time you see one of their photographers get a couple of pictures of the group. This will be a trip you will want to remember.

Oh yeah, I love PhotoPass! Don't forget that if you buy it in advance of your trip, you can save 20% and if you don't see the value in the purchase after you return home, you can get a refund. http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx Just remember that once you pre-purchase, you only have 60 days to redeem the "voucher" for the cd. You will need at least a week to edit your photos if you use it much.

We did this the last two trips. Both times we had over 100 photos that ended up being over 300 photos after editing and adding borders. I think it's totally worth the money. For more unofficial, but very credible info check out... http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/
