I see from other threads that folks have done Disney Cruises before. My boyfriend and I are hoping to go on a 4 day Wonder cruise this winter, but I'm a tad nervous with group seating and all.

Can anyone share their experiences-good and/or bad?

Good Great and better!!! They are so good about reseating people if there is a problem!

Years ago I was traveling with my then girlfriend - we were seated at a table of homophobes - I told the head waiter about the problem - the next night we were at a wonderful table.

Just be willing to speak up if there is a problem - otherwise - don't worry about it!

Enjoy your cruise!

We're coming up on our third Wonder cruise in December (ended up being the Mousefest cruise; didn't know that when we booked the cruise). We've been chatting with a few folks from the cruise meets board and I'm looking forward to meeting up with these folks.

Our first cruise we were seated with a LARGE (18) group who had all met while chatting via the cruise meets board. That group knew we were a couple from the get go and had absolutely no problems whatsoever. In fact we've met up with some of them a few times since at DL as well as visiting in San Diego when they've been out visiting.

Our 2nd cruise was a DVC member cruise and we were at a table for four. The husband and wife with us were from NJ and they were celebrating their 30th anniversary. We were celebrating our 20th. We chatted and chatted all during dinner making our servers think we had known each other for a long time. The second night at dinner both couples received anniversary cakes. We're still in contact with them as well.

We've never had to, but, as Padalyn says, if you feel any discomfort at all, let the head waiter know ASAP and they'll take care of you!!!

Been on DCL many times and have never ever encountered any sort of problem. We did have a small problem on a Carnival cruise (Think Mr. & Mrs. Howell from Gilligans Island!) Fortunatly, they were gone by the second night at dinner. The rest of the table thanked us for scaring them away!:cool1:

Straight couple here...but we had a table of eight which included two gay men. We had the best time with them - so much so that when they could not get into Palo on the last night, we offered to have them sit with us since we had reservations. We ate, drank and had an overall great time that night.

I say you should go!

We have done a number of Disney Cruises. We have never had a problem with our dining companions. On the last cruise there were so many gay couples on board it looked like a gay cruise. They even had a gay couple as contestants for "Match your Mate" (a game show type thing they do on board, kind of like The Newlywed Game). Go for it. If there is ANY problem mention it to someone in charge and they will take care of it for you.

Been on 3 Disney cruises so far, have 2 more booked. The last cruise was the 14 night Eastbound Transatlantic, and just like someone mentioned above, there were SO many gays on this cruise, at one point on Castaway Cay on the adult only beach, my boyfriend said, "When did this become an Atlantis cruise?!"

Never had anything but GREAT experiences. In Palo we were given the "Happy Anniversary" chocolate plate just like anyone else. The gay staff members of course are so happy to see family, they put out the extra servce to take care of you. Everyone is great though, of course. On top of that, the people we met through the Disboards that were on the cruise were so incredibly wonderful, it was completely a non-issue.

Have a great time if you book--let us know when you're thinking. There are already a few gay couples booked for the Double Dip in Sep 08. Enjoy!

We arranged table seating with a straight couple I met on our particular cruise's thread in the cruise forum. It worked out wonderfully, and we continue to correspond and plan to meet up the next time we're at WDW.

I think most people will be very open minded, but if you are the slightest bit uncomfortable, DCL will help you out.

Been on three - most experiences have been positive.

On third cruise one couple seemed a bit uncomfortable, but they never returned to dinner after the first night - if they had a problem, it appears that they resolved it themselves.

Some of the best experiences have been sitting with other folks at breakfast and lunch. The only problem we had there was when we were seated at a table with two single women. They immediately scanned for the lack of wedding rings on our hands and started hitting on both of us. After a few minutes they figured out we were a couple and things got a bit quiet - I think they were more embarrassed than anything.

Sorry I'm just getting back to this folks. Thank you to all of you for your info and support. I had booked the cruise, but then got cold feet. Thanks to you we set sail on Dec. 9 for 4 days on the Wonder!

We'll miss you by a week as we sail the 2nd, but have a GREAT cruise!
