Gay Days Changes??

Yeah, but that doesn't say WHERE it's going to be. No location listed.

Unless I missed it.:confused3

Well... ya got a point there!! I did find this site for ticket purchasing and it says Typhoon. But it may not be an official location.

I went a few years ago. I think I paid $80. It was.... ok. Glad I went to see what it was all about, but no desire to go back. Some friends are visiting from Boston and want me to go, but I'm declining. Not really "my cup of tea". I'm not the party type, but the DJ was awesome, and I do like to :dancer: :lmao:

Sorry, Ive been wanting to use that dancer icon for the longest time now! Mission accomplished!!

As a Christian, all I can say is....hmmmm:sad2:

Not all Christians are troublesome, but the Christian groups (just like any other tour group) can cause lots of problems. Friends of mine in security say there is more vandalism at the Magic Kingdom during the "Night of Joy" than the rest of the year combined.

And I'm not saying it's just Christians (there's a reason Grad Nite was moved to DHS), but the above poster was just making his point and not trying to attack Christians.

Wouldn't the "point" be that the smile given by this particular CM is a fake one to Christian groups, but a genuine one to people who are gay/lesbian?

I'm not personally offended, but I think "tolerance" should go both ways.

Again .....hmmmmm:sad2: Certainly this phrase would not be as PC if the word "Christian" was replaced with...let's say "African Americans", or maybe even "gays"....

Unfortunately for the gay community, often Christianity comes with additional baggage due to experienced and perceived problems.

I think, considering the "new" policies and the board this was posted in, it would probably be best to just drop this subject (from both sides), although I love a good clean debate.

No, I don't think there would be a problem if African Americans were as known to be intolerant of lesbian and gay people as are many fundamental christian groups. Putting on a brave face for all visitors is what CMs are taught to do. That there is a given CM who may relate more profoundly, or honestly one given group over another is simply reality. It's not a show of intolerance, no matter how much someone may try to spin the situation.

If what you read here is so disturbing to you, perhaps you shouldn't put so much stress on yourself.

All I said was hmmmmmm:sad2: ---No stress here at all. I just wanted everyone to be aware (since awareness, as opposed to ignorance, is preached everywhere here on this board), that prejudice, hypocrisy and intollerance comes from people of all faiths, shapes, sizes and colors---even rainbow.....

OK guys, just a reminder to both sides of this argument, it is getting a little too heated in this thread....

Let's get back on topic, the changes in the Gay Days itinerary.....

Thanks!

<Deletd>

Sorry, y'all, I saw the post from the moderator asking us to end this part of the discussion after I posted two replies.

I don't seem to be able to find a way to actually delete a message on here, so I just deleted the content.

It says "Edit/Delete" message, but how do you delete it?

Arrgh, sorry.

(Serves me right to not read the ENTIRE thread before posting a reply, eh?)

S'okay. Some of us are keeping our fingers still only because of our respect for O'Mike who has to moderate this forum.

Your editing your posts is just fine.

And I appreciate that folks! I dont make the rules around here, I just get to make sure we all play by them.

So back on topic! I have also heard that the guy who threw these parties is behind on his payments to Disney, hence why the parties have been cancelled. I have heard NOTHING instructing Disney CM's to act any differently during gay days....

I am SO glad you've said that about the CMs. ::yes:: I've often wondered about the couple who live near us. They are sort of drama laden folks... don't ever want to say someone is fibbing, but some of what they tell us just doesn't seem too accurate.

However, never having worked for WDW, we have no basis for real measurement of what they may be saying.

I surely hope the whole payment for services issue is worked out. It would be too bad to have the whole gay day concept marred by problems with payment on the part of a given promoter, eh? :(

We will still expect to have that warm and wonderful atmosphere when we visit during the time that the gay day celebrations are going on. ::yes:: At least this year I'll have the Mickey rainbow pin! ;):rotfl:

Why does this not surprise me. :sad2:

I can't imagine how profitable those events must be -
Where did all the money go?:rolleyes1

I hope the word on this gets out to the masses -
so Disney does not get any of the blame.
:hyper2:

Or, have any response to not being paid, be interpreted as Disney's stepping out against the gay community. That thought has already started to gain foothold, even among some of the CMs for WDW.
