Anyone know the dates that Gay Days will occur next June? I'm assuming the first weekend (June 2-4). Does that really affect park attendance? Has anyone been on that weekend? Thoughts?

Been on GD. Yes it does affect the crowd level of the park for some days-you will need to check the GD schedule. I will only say that after one trip during GD-NEVER again will we go during that time.

Check out both GayDays and GayDay for complete details. I have never been, but maybe one day. Good luck with your planning. Maggie

The only day that park attendance is really affected is the first Saturday in June at the MK.

We've gone to other parks and avoided MK that day. We didn't have any problems with crowds.

Was in WDW this past June for a surprise Star Wars weekend for my boys & it happened to be GD's as well.

Parks crowded (we usually go off-season so take it for what it's worth), MGM was packed (as expected), we avoided MK on Sat due to potential crowds. No problems whatsoever. Lots of red shirts but that was about it.

It's summer. It's going to be crowded. It's going to be hot. If you go with that mindset (& lots of water) you'll be fine.

Have fun!

We've been during Gay Pride Week every year and have never had much trouble with the crowds. As others have said, avoid MK on the Saturday since that is the only day (and park) that is 'designated' by the co-ordinators of the event.

The only other location we've noticed a significant difference in is Pleasure Island. The clubs get very crowded at night and it can be a bit 'bawdier' than usual. Great fun if you're up for it, but definitely not a place for the kiddies.

Just don't be like my husband who was in Disneyland today by himself and accidentally wore a red shirt...just like hundreds of other gay men! He says he got many the proposition. oops! :-)

We were there this past June and the MK was more crowded due to the event. Would not suggest doing MK on that Saturday with young families, unless you are prepared to answer their questions about the red shirts. The rest of the parks we went to were fine.
