Gay Couple Just Returned...comments, compliments and complaints.

I agree about the hot tub. Most places I travel to have an age limit on the hot tubs. I can remember my kids begging to go in and I said there are rules.

Also for some reason parents don't watch their kids in the hot tub. You can drown in a hot tub the same as in a pool but most parents do seem to get that.

Glad you had a great time at CBR. I never did find good Disney pizza in my visits.

I'm glad there wasn't any discomfort regarding your experience as a gay couple - makes me feel better about spending my money at Disney. And I can't tell you how much I hate the cell phones on the rides - I had to sit through philharmagic once with someone who wouldn't get off his cell. It wasn't an emergency, either. UGH. :crazy2:

It's funny about your student...out tennent told us the same thing (she did one of those college internships some years ago) though we *thought* she was exagerating when she said it. "shaaa", she wasn't!

This reminds me.....We met up with BIL's former roomie while we were down last. He is gay also, lovely guy. My DD5 absolutely fell in love with him. Anyway, he did tell us that there are a lot more gays and lesbians working at WDW than you would think. He said that WDW is a great place to work.

The thing about the hot tubs. There are signs posted stating that children should not be in them. Or it says max time for kids is 10 minutes. Something like that. We don't let our kids in them because it is too easy for them to overheat. Plus it is annoying to have kids in. They are not mini-swimming pools!

And we had the pleasure of riding the safari with a woman who was yelling into her cell phone the entire time. Very annoying........

I'm so relieved that to read everyone else's hot tub comments!!! As I was writing my post I thought, ugg, I don't want to come off as kid-unfriendly, but it drove me nuts.

We stayed in Jamaica which though not too terribly far the main pool is still a good walk from it. So every night after getting dropped off by the shuttle we'd walk by to scope out the pool. If it looked slow we'd b-line it to our room change into our suits...we did this twice and neither time were we able to get in. Mind you we could have pushed our way in but that's not my style.
I must say I'm not really bothered by the little kids provided they're with there's a mom or dad. But the teens really annoyed me mostly because we sat patently for a good long time before we gave up and headed back to our room...via the bar of course!

Glad you two had a great time. My partner and I have been going to the Disney parks as a couple for the past 27 years, and in all that time, we have only had 2 incidents of rude comments from other guests, and on one of those occasions the other guests around us spoke up in our defense and told the rude person to mind their own business.

So glad you had a great time. Disney is for everyone! I agree totally about both the hot-tub and cell phone issues. :cool1:

Cathryn,

I'm glad to hear that you had a great time. I agree with you about the hot tubs and the cell phone thing really bugs me too.
