Gatwick hotel parking

DMum and DDad are currently in Florida (so unfair - i keep getting phonecalls on their mobile phone along the lines of "just been past the exit for WDW" "Oh look there's the sign for Animal Kingdom, maybe we'll go...")

Anyway, before they left i was asked to find out about airport parking at Gatwick for our trip in November (normally i chauffer them). DDad said something about if you stay in a gatwick hotel the night before you can leave the car there for your holiday??

Does anyone have any tips on airport parking at Gatwick? I'd prefer something that's near the airport but there seem to be so many to choose from its all a bit confusing

We've always booked through ABC Holiday Extras. Had Premiere Inn near gatwick and 15 nights parking for £90 last year. It's gone up this year but still some cheapish ones about.

Travellers Toolkit is an excellent site for getting a handle on the precise location of all the hotels and car parks. We've stayed at both the Hilton (linked to the South Terminal) and the Sofitel (linked to the North), both of which provide very easy access to either terminal. Parking at these hotels is extremely limited and restricted to checking-in. If you opt for the parking add-ons, you'll be allocated a space at one of the on-airport long-stay facilities. You'll have to get a bus from the car park to the hotel. I don't have any experience of any of the other hotels, but no doubt someone else will be able to help.

Check out the Hilton Hotel at Gatwick's south terminal - they do a park and stay package with meet and greet parking - you are met as you arrive at the hotel and your car is parked for you and brought back to you when you land back at the airport.

you do need to specify meet and greet when you book the package.

We always stay at Sofitel because it's right on the Airport and we use Twilight Check in with Virgin. It's not the cheapest but so convenient.

We always stay at the Sofitel on the North terminal as I find it far nicer than the Hilton on the South.

We usually do the Twilight check in and then hop on a train to Brighton for dinner and a few drinks.

You can book valet parking at the Sofitel so you leave your car in their car park and that's it! Someone whisks it away to secure parking and then they meet you outsde the terminal on your return with the car running and the heating on.

Far easier than messing around with coaches when you're tired after a 10 hour overnight flight!

We book via Holidayextras too although occasionally you can get better deals via the Sofitel website (Holidayextras will price match though).

We have stayed at the Ifield Court Hotel for many years. It is a family run, country house hotel, and the Bed and Breakfast price includes parking for the duration of your stay, and transfers to and from Gatwick. I've included the contact details below.

We have used The Four Seasons Guest House for the last 2 years and are using them again this year. They are 5 minutes from the airport and offer an excellent breakfast. A triple room costs £65.00 and parking is £20.00 per week. I have shppoed around and everywhere else is more expensive and charge for transfers. The welcome is excellent and there are treats in the rooms at no extra charge. 01293 781481

Sounds like an excellent idea. How much does valet parking cost? Presumably you still book your own slot in the secure parking lot?
